When the governed no longer consent

In the wake of last week’s “landmark” decision by the U.S. Supreme Court mandating nationwide acceptance of gay marriage, some states have begun pushing back, essentially telling Uncle Sam what he can do with his high court ruling.

In Texas, Attorney General Ken Paxton has issued an opinion stating that county clerks, judges and justices of the peace could refuse to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, noting that the SCOTUS ruling did not abolish religious liberty.

“This newly minted federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage can and should peaceably coexist with longstanding constitutional and statutory rights, including the rights to free exercise of religion and freedom of speech,” Paxton’s opinion states.

They may not CONSENT, but you can be sure they will COMPLY...

Mutually inclusive. Compliance = Consent

Force of arms is one way, sure. That’s how every political entity comes into being.

The idea is that states couldn’t enter the union on their own, they had to apply and receive permission with conditions. So, the argument goes, they should leave the same way. Right or wrong, there is some logic there.

100% incorrect. The 2 are mutually inclusive

That would only be true if church wedding were the only way to get married. There are numerous other paths to marital bliss for the sodomites. Not saying that they won't come after Christian churches, I'm just saying that it doesn't of necessity follow.

“Right or wrong, there is some logic there.”

Bad logic. Keeping a state in the union against its will is a violation of the principle of self-governance, which undermines the very legitimacy of the nation itself. If they don’t have the right to leave, then we never had the right to separate from England, and we are still a bunch of illegitimate rebels.

... But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security...

Our current Overlords will certainly say such talk is seditious and thus a crime. And you will be punished.

But those same Overlords will insist that Communists must be given the right and freedom to advocate the overthrow of our Constitutional government because they (Communists) have a First Amendment right to say anything they want. But YOU do not.

IMHO any new government must make Communism/Socialism a capital offense. Communism makes any criticism of it a crime, we should be able to protect ourselves from Communism in the same manner Communism protects itself.

“They” are not above the law.

They just have a different set of laws not for ordinary citizens, and no need for them to ‘declare’, it is buried in multiple >1,000 pages of garbage(s) in footnotes, appendices, and whatnots.

It will be just like any other 3rd world countries, IT all depends on if you (ordinary Jacks/Jills) have the ‘right’ connections.

This "newly minted federal constitutional right" CANNOT, by nature, coexist with the right to free exercise of religion and freedom of speech", now that deviant marriage is a "civil right". As I've mentioned previously, this SCOTUS opinion has placed deviant sexual behavior on the same level as race. I don't care who or what the church is, if they are sued for discrimination based on a civil right, they will lose.

The deviants will not be happy using an alternate method of marriage. Now that it is a civil right, they will go for the churches. The first church to turn down a deviant couple will be sued, persecuted and more.

Yes, civil disobedience is the way to go. Irish Democracy sounds like the ‘Good Soldier Schweik’ approach — this book is well worth reading, it is very funny and illuminating.

Ah, but they’ll make brave chest-thumps saying “I Do not Consent To this!” but when the IRS comes around...

Well, Obama was correct when he claimed (after lying and claiming he was a Christian to get elected in '08) that "America is not a Christian nation."

If the American people don't rise up and demand that each and every judge that found a "fundamental right" to gay marriage tucked away in a 200 year old document, that our founders failed to tell us they intended, be booted from their lofty positions, if all Christian pastors, leaders and churches don't tell DC "we will NOT comply with your edicts and bow down to your false idols," then we ARE NOT a Christian nation but a mere pagan nation celebrating sodomy and shaking our fists to God's face, the way we've done with killing innocent babes in the womb.

We will be punished for our collective sin as a nation by whatever means God deems fit.

I, for one, am sad I have lived to see this happen and I pray for my lovely children and grandchildren to have inherited a debased and evil culture that they have inherited from my generation.

The right to secede comes from the same source as our Right to keep and bear arm - God Himself - and a government that no longer rules with the consent of the governed and under the rule of a written Constitution cannot stop secession except by force. I hope and pray that our soldiers are too honorable and patriotic to obey any unlawful orders that they may receive in such a situation. I wish the thug in our White House would reread the Declaration of Independence; it articulates our right to secede quite well.
