An IDF spokesman said Monday morning that after careful deliberation and exhaustive diplomatic efforts, Israeli security forces acted to prevent the flotilla Marianne av Göteborg from breaching the the shores of Gaza, violating Israel's naval blockade of the coastal enclave.
According to the IDF, Israeli security forces boarded the vessel without incident after passengers made it clear after numerous attempts that they would not acquiesce to the Army's demands and were subsequently force to proceed towards the port of Ashdod. The vessel is currently being escorted to Ashdod Port and is expected to arrive within 12-24 hours.
Participants are protesting Israels naval blockade of Gaza, as well as the restrictions it has placed on land crossings since they believe the Gaza borders should be open.
They have rejected Israels explanation that the closures are a necessary security measures given that Hamas, which rules Gaza, is a terrorist organization bent on destroying Israel.
Israeli officials reiterated on Sunday that Jerusalem has no intention to allow the boats to reach Gaza, and that the organizers are well aware both that there is a legal naval blockade of the area, and that all humanitarian aid into Gaza can pass through established channels.

Nazis should be sunk while they’re on water. Easier and neater than shooting them on land. .
I wonder what sort of weapons it was carrying, but maybe this was a distraction of some kind
It could very well have had no weapons. Their plan might be to first “break” the blockade with precedent. Then, when there are lots of ships getting thru, have random ships carrying the contraband.

While they usually try to smuggle in weapons ( the interdiction of which being why Israel keeps her so- called “blockade” right) it’s just possible this charade was a pure propaganda effort. Any legitimate non- military cargo continues to flow into gaza by land through Israel, of course. Tons and tons and tons of it. Far more than those silly little boats could ever carry anyway

The Norwegian captain on this Swedish fishing boat claim they had solar panels and stuff like that in the cargo, no weaponds of any kinds, hope Israel bills Sweden and Norway for the cost of all the trouble they have made
I hope they were looking for a mini-sub just in case
