I didn’t read in the article that he hated the Confederate flag. What I read is he agreed with Gov. Haley, Jeff Gordon, the NASCAR governing body etc. that it was time to quit displaying it. I don’t agree with his statement, but somebody else on the thread already explained this to you.
Here’s another explanation. When your name is worth 3-400 million, and you have fans of all races, why do something that damages that name to mainstream America. The MSM has just spent 2 weeks telling them it’s a symbol of hate. The guy is a spokesman for Nationwide Insurance. How long do you think he’d keep that gig once the MSM got through with him. They’ve wanted NASCAR destroyed for years, why give them the ammo to finish the job?
He shouldn’t have said it. Period. With the attendance drops with Nascar, he should have kept his mouth shut and kept driving.
