The First Amendment only means whatever five Supreme Court legislators say it means—nothing more or less. Given the past 80 years of black robed constitution shredding, I wouldn’t put too much faith in the First Amendment’s ability to restrain government interference regarding the free exercise of religion.
If five judges won’t follow the First Amendment, why would they follow a statute affirming the First Amendment? They won’t, and the House won’t impeach or the Senate convict.
