This discussion has went on far longer than I intended. When I first read the article, it seemed Bristol Palin was taking a defiant tone. People seemed to be excusing it because she’s a Palin. I felt compelled to challenge that.
What’s she’s doing is certainly better than abortion. Nevertheless, let us not ignore the fact that Bristol Palin’s actions—in general—are bad for society. Of course she has the resources to take care of her out of wedlock baby, but many people don’t. Result? They have abortions.
Part of the reason why we have so many abortions, in my opinion, is the way we’ve turned a blind eye to premarital sex. Premarital sex, like divorce, are social ills that are largely responsible for the rush to bigger government.
No, it is because this is no one else's business and it is a complete non-issue.
Wrong is wrong. Fornication is no better than adultery or homosexuality,
No, that is only your opinion. Bristol's children will not pick you pocket via welfare programs nor contribute to the crime epidemic, so there is no "wrong" here.
and shes the one who first adopted a defiant tone, i.e. no lectures
Good for her. No one's opinion matters but her's and the baby's father.
Why doesn’t this young woman take charge of her life and USE BIRTH CONTROL ..??
There is no excuse. If you want to sleep around; do something to protect yourself from pregnancy.
Is this Dakota Myers’ child ..??
Definition of bastard is a child born to a mother who is not married to the father of the child.
Period.
Bristol Palin’s child will be a bastard by definition.
6 weeks or so ago, when news of the cancelled wedding was released, you also referred to the thread as tabloid trash, going on to state her sincerity for the abstinence cause.
She was already pregnant when you stated, and I quote “As a fine young Christian woman, she knows that “living with a guy” (cohabitation) is adultery. It’s simply not plausible that Bristol Palin would do anything of the sort, violating one of Almighty God’s Ten Commandments. “

I think it might be wise to find a new role model for young women, don’t you?
So would you be opposed to fornicators getting married?
Or would you think that homosexuals should "make it legal" and get married?
Fornication is a sin.
The bible describes homosexuality as an "abomination.".
Obviously they are not in the same league.
I suppose she could make it right by just aborting the little bastard, eh?
Lol. They watch all the same shows and see all the same commercials by watching online.
What’s the source for that? That doesn’t square with the Sarah Palin I know.

You don’t know her, you know her media image.
Married 8/29/88
First child’s birthday 4/20/89
I suspect you can do the math on that. They eloped for a reason. She was pregnant. And you’ll need some evidence if you wish to speculate that Track was a premature birth.

Your "math" is rather speculative, and proves absolutely nothing as far as the elopement.
The child could easily have been born a few weeks premature, so assuming the most negative explanation is not particularly compelling.
The dates are facts, friend.
That they eloped because she knew she was pregnant is opinion. Based on the math.
Bring your evidence that Track was born at 37 and a half weeks.
Absolutely right!
It is really no ones business. This child will be loved like the rest of them..It will enter a loving family and be one of the greatest womans grandchildren.Lots of luck and love Bristol from all of the people who love your family..
These so called news stories like this is just a warning to the Palin family of what will come if Sarah did plan a political run..
As to homosexuals and others who are as attached to perversions, they are specially depraved. They need to stop.
I and my wife taught our children that when you sin it becomes easier to sin next time until you are dealing with a sinful habit and when you resist sin it will be easier to resist next time until you have the habit of virtue.
I also told my daughters that whatever happened in their lives, whatever sorrow, whatever their mistakes and sins, I was still their father and my wife their mother and they could bring it to us. The one thing we were not prepared to cope with would be any of them sneaking off to an abortion mill to keep us or anyone from knowing of a pregnancy. They are all in their twenties now and we have never had to deal with that. Our love was unconditional however.
Some here have climbed into their pulpits to denounce this young woman as a "slut." I would not do that if I were her father and I hope you would not either. Instead, I will do the only thing I can do and pray that she better conform her life to the will of God and learn to know Him, love Him and serve Him in this world and be happy forever with Him in the next. That is Christian love. Of the early Christians during the Roman persecutions, it was said: You will know the Christians, they are the ones who love one another.
Also, nice works better than not nice.
All unrepentant sin is enough to get one damned. However, the material/worldly results of sin obviously vary. A fornicator is at least using his or her body as it was designed. He or she is not rebelling against nature. A homosexual, on the other hand, wages war against his own body. I believe that’s why it’s an abomination. Not only does it defy God’s law, but it’s a violation of the natural order of things.
Nice is in the eye of the beholder I suppose (and I don’t mean that sarcastically). If a homosexual “couple” asked for my opinion of their union, I’d tell them flat out it’s sin. I’d also tell them they need to repent and get right with God. Now that may not be perceived as being nice, but I don’t think it’s very nice to approve of sin that leads to death. I’m not saying I’d be mean about it, but I’d firmly stand for the truth.
BTW, I’ve had real life experiences with situations like this, and you don’t do sinners any favors by not telling them they need to get right with Christ.
You are the one who claimed that homosexual sin is no worse than fornication. Now you admit that it is.
There are no Fornication Pride parades.
There are no drunkenness pride parades.
There are no Adultery Pride Parades.
There are no Murderer pride parades.
There are no Thief Pride Parades.
Homosexual sin is the only sin that is celebrated and that people claim to be proud of.
That makes it a most vile sin. It is probably the worst sin of all in that people are not expected to repent of it, but are told to embrace it and to demand respect for it from all society.
When I wrote homosexuality is no worse than fornication, I meant in regards to salvation. Of course the results of sin vary in this age, but I don’t know of any scripture that says or implies unrepentant homosexuals will be punished any worse than thieves, liars, or fornicators.
For that individual, perhaps, but in terms of the salvation of others anyone who advocates for the normalization of homosexual behavior and who claims that it is not a sin is guilty of the most grievous of sins in that they are convincing others that there is no need to repent of that sin and they are committing blasphemy by claiming that God approves of it.
They are endangering the salvation of otheres.
Face it, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because their sin was contagious and letting it fester and pretending that God approved would have been a cancer on the whole world.
Those churches that embrace homosexual behavior are worse than the people of Sodom. There is a special place in Hell reserved for them.
God does not approve of any sin. In regards to churches that claim sin is OK, I think that’s even worse than being unbelievers. All of us were misguided unbelievers at some point in time, but the church claims to represent Christ. When a person in need goes to one of those churches and is told don’t worry, homosexuality is OK, then that church is responsible for leading a sinner from Christ.
