California lawmakers on Thursday approved one of the toughest mandatory vaccination requirements in the nation, moving to end exemptions from state immunization laws based on religious or other personal beliefs.
The measure, among the most controversial taken up by the Legislature this year, would require more children who enter day care and school to be vaccinated against diseases including measles and whooping cough.

Under the auspices of "herd immunity", California is herding everyone in the state into forced vaccinations. Why? Doesn't California trust their vaccinations? What about a family's right not to be forced into receiving unsafe chemicals under their skin?
Here is the argument: "Vaccinations are not foolproof, so it is dangerous to allow non-vaccinated people of faith on the streets." In other words, they do not trust their vaccinations, so they are lashing out at Christians by forcing Christian families to get the same dangerous and untrustworthy vaccinations? Nuts!
This is going to get much worse. Freedom, conscience, and liberty are great theories to virtually all people. However when push comes to shove, most will sell them out along with truth, for safety and security...regardless of how short lived the safety and security are. Issues like this strip away the conservative facade and reveal the true nature of where people's faith lies. What can a Christian do by hide themselves...
Isaiah 26: 20 Come , my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. 21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
Sorry, but this is one of those rare times California does something right. Google the term “herd immunity.”
This law goes to far, but it is going to affect more Marin liberals than Christians. No reasonable Christian is taking a religious exemption for vaccinations, and if they do, they shouldn’t be sending their kids to public school (or Disneyland) anyway.
I already know...and there may be some science behind it, but it is wrong! If I were in California, I would be exiting (like many Christians who are tired of being targeted)
I took all the vaccinations as did my wife and four children. Yep.....I don’t want this country to relive the 40’s and 50’s when kids died unnecessarily because they didn’t have these shots. People are so selfish when it comes to the health of their children.
So forcing your misguided opinion on families is justifiable? Thank God for the second amendment...
I’m just saying the people who don’t vaccinate in California are the mostly liberal white people, and illegal immigrants. The two main religious groups in opposition to this bill are the Nation of Islam, and Scientology. Public schools should be abolished and everyone should just get vouchers.
Hey if you don’t care about you kids fine.....but don’t spread your selfishness on the rest of us. I don’t care if you bury your kids but I don’t want to bury mine.
Let's not jump to conclusions here. Yes, there are families who don't vaccinate, but I don't think that's what is driving the spike in illnesses. There's something else going on here, and it should be obvious to anyone. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Basically, Christians are being blamed for a problem caused by the government. Hint: border security (or the lack thereof)
If they have been around the world, they have been immunized.
Nice try.
I agree on public schools. Just as a broken clock is right twice a day, the nutty Muslims and granola libs are right on this.
No they have not!
Nobody’s “forcing vaccinations” on them. If they want to enroll their kids in public school, they will need to be vaccinated. If they don’t want to vaccinate, then they can still not do that, but their children won’t be able to attend public schools.
Your right not to vaccinate does not preclude society from taking reasonable public health steps.
Liberalism bumping into that most nasty of all things: reality.
They are right that the government shouldn’t force you to vaccinate, but they are totally wrong that parents shouldn’t vaccinate their kids.
I have not read the language of the law. I may be reading the article incorrectly, but it looks like this bill is mandating that ALL children be vaccinated with no religious exemptions. Are you saying this is not the case?
