I am heartbroken at the way this has been developed, from some mentally refarted loser gunning good Christian people down in a church in SC to a mob wanting to destroy the history of the Confederacy down to the last bronze plaque.
I had people fight and people die on both sides of that Battle Flag back then, this I know for certain. No matter how vehemently they fought for either force I know they all came together and cried and embraced years later.
And I sit here afraid to show how I respect the history for fear some feral mongrel will shoot me down and burn my home. I thought our beautiful country was at its lowest point that Tuesday morning in September of 2001, but we have found a scab to pick that healed over long ago and I feel this whole fiasco to my core.
What’s next. How long until the hatefilled animals decide Texas needs to take down the Stars and Bars from the Six Flags Over Texas display that shows at the capitol building in Austin? Or will the Lone Star be next because of the “hate” from its history in war against Mexico.
They can’t have that flag, except over my dead body.
These are dark times. I flew my rebel flag tonight which I bought at Gettysburg, and had a very nice chat with my teenage kids as to what that flag represents, they were surprised at both what it represented and the liberty we have lost.
