Do something about guns.
In his statement on the Charleston shooting, President Barack Obama called on congressional leaders to “come to grips” with their positions on guns, because “it is in our power to do something about it.” This is a refrain we hear after every gruesome mass shooting. Today, Eugene Robinson writes that “the one thing about which there can be no debate is that he had a gun.” The only way we can change things is to hold “presidential candidates of both parties accountable” to do something about them.

It’s simply. They want to take guns out of the hands of the people over whom they wish to rule.
Who gets to define “unlawful possession of a firearm”?
Actually, for the sheeperal, stating that something should be done is the end of the matter.
Once they say that, they’re a good person because they care and expressed a strong opinion. End of issue.
There can be no debate gun free zones are just killing zones when an idiot bent on murdering people goes there.
No debate that it is always better to be armed against an armed murderer than to be unarmed.

They are in the process of making everything a crime. Eventually they can disarm you under enough laws. School zones are perrect example.

Although several Freepers have heard me state, “Never say Never”, private ownership of guns is stopping the liberals goal of one world government from becoming reality here in the U.S. Take away our guns and we are doomed, keeping guns in OUR HANDS makes their plan very difficult to carry out.
Unfortunately, like many of my colleagues, my guns were lost when the boat tipped over.
There are more than enough laws on the books already that aren't enforced, or are plea bargained away.
The ONLY THING that will appease the gun grabbers is an outright ban of private ownership of handguns and semiautomatic rifles and shotguns, just like most of Europe and Australia.
Bolt action and lever action rifles will be "tolerated" for hunting purposes, as will double barrel and maybe, if you're really good, pump shotguns with 3 round capacity.
And your name will be on a list so that if you ever so much as sneeze the wrong way, *poof* goes your gun "rights" and the police show up at your doorstep with a list of serial numbers.
Anything short of that won't make the Gun Grabbers happy at all.
Give a free one to everyone over the age of 10, like with Obama cell phones.

He also threatened a week earlier to gun down folks at College of Charleston, the whitest college in the state of SC by far.
If abortion is a "health care right" and should be paid for by us taxpayers, then I say, I have a right to a weapon via the 2nd.....hmmm, I want to go shopping!!

If they don’t believe in God, they don’t have to go to church or pray.
BUT, the day they they find themselves in need of protection:
They will call someone who has a gun, and pray that they get there in time.

The Left finds your terms acceptable, defining “unlawful possession of a firearm” as equal to “possession of a firearm”, nicely segueing into 10 yrs for use in the commission of the crime of unlawful possession of a firearm. Oh, BTW: no plea bargain. Gun? 10 years. Yeah, they’ll happily agree to your terms.
