'Fed up' conservatives plot revenge against Boehner

Dozens of members of the House GOP's most conservative faction plan to meet Tuesday to discuss ways to counteract the decision of House Speaker John Boehner and other leaders to seek retribution against members who vote against must-pass measures.

The House Freedom Caucus, a GOP group made up of about 40 of the most conservative members, plans to hold the discussion some time after Tuesday's evening votes, according to lawmakers familiar with the initiative.

Freedom Caucus Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said Monday in a radio interview that many conservatives were "fed up" with the string of punishment meted out to members who don't vote in line with the Republican leadership on key legislation.

A little late isn't guys?

You want to stop him then get enough patriots together and withdraw from the GOP and register as any other party but you need enough to throw the GOP into minority status then you could wield real power else shut up. You have already assured that we the people will have to shut up and take it so join the club.

When they quit the GOP and form a 3rd party in the House, then I will give a damn.

I have been calling for this since the regained the House. Personally I think it is the only way to dislodge the current leadership.

Boehner could have lost with 29 votes against him. If Boehner had lost, the speaker’s chair would most likely have remained vacant for some time as various candidates would have tried to build a coalition large enough to succeed him.

Granted, it would have still been difficult for Pelosi to have assembled a majority coalition — Republicans would have almost certainly preferred a vacant speakership to Speaker Pelosi — but each Democratic member gets to cast a vote in the speaker’s race that counts just as much as each Republican member’s vote. Thus, the possibility that Pelosi could have been speaker with a republican majority.

I saw today that Rob Portman (OH) is behind in the polling to one of the worst governors ever, Ted Strickland.

Conservatives aren’t very interested or motivated to support another RINO. In my mind, having guys like Portman/McConnell is no different than having a Dem in office....other than the damage that fake conservatives do to the cause.
