Dozens of members of the House GOP's most conservative faction plan to meet Tuesday to discuss ways to counteract the decision of House Speaker John Boehner and other leaders to seek retribution against members who vote against must-pass measures.
The House Freedom Caucus, a GOP group made up of about 40 of the most conservative members, plans to hold the discussion some time after Tuesday's evening votes, according to lawmakers familiar with the initiative.
Freedom Caucus Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said Monday in a radio interview that many conservatives were "fed up" with the string of punishment meted out to members who don't vote in line with the Republican leadership on key legislation.

"Pooh on those congressmen doing what we want now!"
Had they stood united, the sheep would haven followed.
BOEHNER MUST BE TAKEN DOWN NOW!
Doesn’t the US Capitol Bldg have any LONG, DARK, LONLY Stairwells(in the Navy we had “Navy Showers”, Fan Rooms and “Blanket” “Parties”)?
I don't pretend to know the detailed mechanics of the procedure. But it was certainly my impression that had the (supposed) conservatives stuck together they could have thrown a big monkey wrench in Boner's selection as speaker
Which also brings up the question of why does the minority party (Dems) have any say so in picking the majority party's speaker?
Unfortunately many of the 16 votes needed were newly elected like Mia Love.
They should have a different perspective now.
Timing is everything and the unfortunate fact is that Boehner is powerful because of the money he is allowed to control and which controls him.
So? Many of us here had far less info than an actual candidate with an Op research staff and WE new what was coming ... and were 1 0 0 % right.
None of them have an excuse.
They already blew 2 opportunities — January 2013 and 2015.
It is difficult to think they will do anything other than bluster to the media.
a 3rd party means the the D’s will be in power for ever.
4 parties could work Soc. Dem - GOPe Constitutional
Speaker is (theoretically) non-partisan. He represents the whole House.
Kevin McCarthy is the Republican leader, as Pelosi is the Democrats’.
GOP did not have control of the Senate in 2013 so there was no good reason to dump Boehner because the focus was on Harry Reid.
And the ‘they’ that you speak of were not identical ‘theys’ in 2013 and 2015.
New members like Mia Love could have, should have voted to dump Boehner in January 2015 but that’s easier said than done.
Yeah. “Beaner” needs to have an unfortunate accident with an “exercise machine” .
What's to plan?
Cut the Orange man down to size.
I bet the Dims have already gathered this info and are already using it against Boehner.
Don’t get mad... get even.
Form a new political party.
When they quit the GOP and form a 3rd party in the House, then I will give a damn.
Its about time for an American Conservative Liberty Party
For Constitutional Conservatives, Religious Right, Fiscal Conservatives, Business , and National defense.
GOPe is Dem Lite.
Let me explain a few things to you, because you are misguided. The notion floated was that ONLY 16 Republicans could defeat Boehner. That is true in only one case - which is those 16 joined a unanimous Dem caucus to elect a Democrat - probably Pelosi again.
My comment was only on the notion of 16. There was never any discussion that there were enough votes to elect another Republican. That was not going to happen.
Therefore, my comments about the 16 scenario are 100% on the money true and to the salient point.
Taking down Bonehead would cause to to cry like a baby again. Might be worth seeing again.
