We are 100% with a local credit union.
When I was a baby, I got my first CU account. A few years ago, I called them about a car loan. When they asked for my number, I read it to them.
Her reply: “Whoa”
I forgot that my grandfather was one of the founders of the CU and I had a double digit account number. Needless to say, I got the loan with no further questions
The defense of gay marriage has reached a fever pitch. Up until two weeks ago, I spent the last seven years spending Wednesdays with a group of friends who were all decidedly NON-conservative. Recently, the topic of gay marriage came up, so to make a point about moral imperatives, I suggested that “if it is just about love, then consenting adult incest should be fine, too.” Naturally, they objected on the “genetic grounds” until I said, “Fine, take reproduction out of it. Let’s go father-son, or brother-brother, since we’ve already established that gay marriage is OK by your standard.”
In an effort to give no ground to the possibility that moral imperatives exist, they actually sat there - ALL FIVE OF THEM - and mounted a defense for homosexual incest.
Needless to say, I will not be hanging out with them anymore. Naturally, they think I’m being close-minded. OK, fine, but at least I’m not being so open-minded that my brain fell right out!
Yes, it's norming gay marriage, but that's now how people will perceive any counter discussion...
face it, corporate America is a fish that has rotted from the head down
I hope the 2% bring them plenty of business
Love it. I still have my triple digit account number, with my hometown CU.
Older companies, especially those selling prosaic products, are desperate to appear cool, in order to attract millennials, who are perceived as liberal.
How to make Tylenol sexy? Pander to gays. Tim Cook's "outing" was little more than a PR stunt, to endear himself to the younger generation & retain Apple's relevance.
I have known my fair share of homosexuals in my life, and even the “good” ones were hedonistic narcissists who couldn’t ever get passed their sexuality because it defined them. I won’t even address the bad ones.
My young relatives seem similar to yours. They have met a few in college and found them to be cool. I think they understand their sexual proclivities, but don’t see the disease, suicides, early death and perversion as the norm. AND you can’t discuss it with them because they don’t want to hear it. To them it’s all about fairness, tolerance and inclusiveness.
I swear, I had no idea that it would wind up being post #69.
While waiting in the doctor's office the other day I was chatting with two women, one of whom probably saw the Hebrew prayer book in my hand and decided to test me.
She held up a newspaper article about some actor/actress pushing for transgender rights and casually remarked, "Isn't this great?"
When I shook my head and made a face, she said, "Well, I'm not judgmental. I don't buy into that religious nonsense."
There is an all-out war on traditional values nowadays, period.
That was all she had to do to feel self-righteous for the rest of the day, as a trendy social justice warrior. You could have left there, fed lines of the poor at a soup kitchen, tutored little black kids in reading, beat the streets in a clothing drive for the poor, etc, but because you’re doing it for the “wrong” reasons-Christian, or conservative principle, none of it counts. Her attempting to bait you in a chance encounter in a doctor’s office counts more, because her “motives were correct”.
Once I found out how even low doses of Tylenol can damage the live I kissed it goodbye.
“Shouldnt be hard to boycott Tylenol, there are plenty of generic alternative”
I can’t take aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications so I take generic Tylenol but labels don’t say who makes it any more, they say made for or distributed by. the cone I’m taking now says “Not distributed by McNeil, the distributors of Tylenol”. It says it’s distributed by Sam’s, it could still be made by J&J.
America's party hasn't fallen to that level yet, but it's a lot farther down the road to self destruction than it was over 1/2 century ago when I was in still struggling through college and homosexuals were called "queers"". Which IMHO is still a good description of their disgusting practices even though it's not politically correct.
More likely your generic version of Tylenol was made by a lab in India or some other far east or Latin American nation. I don't think American drug distributors are required by law to disclose the country where their products were made. I know that several of the generic medications I take are made in foreign countries but I wouldn't know that if I hadn't read the fine print. They seem to work as well as any others I take regularly, but I would still prefer them to be made here.
Well, that’s because you’re a bigot, obviously. ;-)
Here’s what people don’t get: acceptance is not tolerance. If I really like Rocky Road ice cream, I’m not “tolerating” it. You have to have at least a minor dislike of something (like Mint Chocolate Chip) to *tolerate* it.
Liberals are actually destroying the concept of tolerance by forcing acceptance.
Last night I went to the ATM at my bank (Chase) and was greeted by a message in rainbow colors saying Be Yourself and inviting me to celebrate equality for LGBT people.
“When I shook my head and made a face, she said, “Well, I’m not judgmental. I don’t buy into that religious nonsense.”
You should have replied with the truth: “Well, you just judged me.”
There’s a switch—medicine causing pain instead of relieving it.
