The man accused of shooting a New Orleans police officer to death inside a police car was nabbed Sunday after he was spotted jumping onto a public bus wearing handcuffs.
Police searched for Travis Boys, 33, for 24 hours after he slipped into the front seat of the cruiser while handcuffed and fatally shot Daryle Holloway, 45, authorities said. A police rookie and his trainer saw Boys getting on the bus with broken handcuffs on his wrist.
"To my understanding, he got on the bus after spotting the officers. And the officers saw that and then he got off the bus and then was apprehended," Police Superintendent Michael Harrison said.
Holloway, a 22-year veteran who was taking Boys to jail on an aggravated assault charge, was shot in the chest.

Black males are responsible for the deaths of 50% of all police in 2015 but only make up 7% of the US population.
Is it racist to be a little more careful, or reasonable based on the statistics?
And just how well secured was this thug that he was able to do what he did?

The police officer’s gun was still in his holster.
In the police car was the .38 he was originally arrested with and the .40 he used to kill the cop.
