As the author points out, we do the mentally ill no favors by validating their delusions. With an anorexic skinny isn't a social construct and dead is dead. The sort of fantasy life you have to cling to in order to insist otherwise is the arena of small children protected by adults from the consequences of their games of let's-pretend. Outlawing adults is not the road to freedom, it's the road to destruction.
