The one thing you can count on is that he will make it dearly more expensive. You can look for drastically increased NICS fees, transfer fees and a federal tax on ammo sales that will approach the punitive stage.

For sure there will be calls for gun control, but what will be the mantra if there is social unrest? Will protests be directed at one white person, or many? This can’t be laid at the cops feet.

I agree. This shooting will likely ignite a new round of gun control debates, with the left calling for new laws and the right pushing back, but both sides are so firmly entrenched by this point that it's not going to amount to much. Sandy Hook was as awful as a mass shooting can get. If Sandy Hook didn't move the needle, there's no reason to think that this will.
