The TPP is already non compliant with TPA. The Congress was not able to set the parameters that the President negotiated under and Congress was also not involved in the negotiations as TPA requires.

At least as soon as TPP is complete, we will get 60 days to review it and contact our Reps and Senators, something we would not have gotten without TPA.

60 days to look at it ans contact reps will work as well as it did this time on the TPA.

Theywill simply maneuver around the constituents while ignoring them.

Yes without TPA we would have had forever to review it and it (TPP) would have needed 60 votes in the Senate to pass but thanks to TPA TPP only needs 50 votes from Senators and only gets reviewed for up to 60 days, Mitch might decide 1 day is enough. Also remember there a 2 other secrete "trade" bills besides TPP hitched to TPA and those bills are so secrete even the traitors in the GOP are not allow to see them.

Good luck with that.

Yes, but like the Maine senator’s vote that allowed 0bamacare to proceed [that could have stopped it], this TPP too shall be maneuvered through. I for one do not trust them to a) give us 60 days or b) pay any attention to what constituents want in whatever time they “give”us.

It could have been stopped.

I hope I’m wrong.

If you think that will make any difference, you haven’t been paying attention.

Citizens were contacting their congress critters like crazy to stop this thing today. It still passed. Very few of these career politicians care what their constituents think. They know only a very small percentage of their number are thrown out of office. If they vote the Chamber of Corruption/Boehner/McConnell line, they will be assured of enough campaign donations to roll over almost any opponent.

I don't know if you're genuinely ignorant of the Constitution, or deliberately schilling for a particular candidate or organization.

But just in case: WITHOUT TPA, CONGRESS and POTUS WOULD HAVE TO USE ARTICLE II, SECTION II TREATY PROCEDURES, WHICH WOULD REQUIRE A 2/3 MAJORITY IN THE US SENATE, WOULD BE SUBJECT TO ALL SENATE RULES.

Did you know that?

Given the lack of trust, 60 days for a foregone bill isn’t enough. Drop the secrecy from the draft process and let the truth come out as it is developed. Save the secrecy for the DoD.

In addition, nothing aside from fear says that they can’t bring the drafts out in the open. The TPA just provides the comment period for PR, not for actual objections.

we get to wait 60 days and then call or reps and beg them....wow what a great bill.

Wait ....we have been calling them for weeks now, begging and demanding they not pass this crap and they did it anyway.

50 60 600 days mean nothing. The Republican Party will not listen to the people ...only the money.

Trump needs to start a TRUMP THIRD PARTY. TTP. HE’S GOT THE MONEY HE SHOULD DO IT.
