the average American voter is not that "tuned in"

With out-of-control black rabble rousers, an economy that isn't producing anywhere near enough jobs that provide self-sufficiency, US citizens possibly being force-fed that trade deal, and endless wars, average folk have become very aware. Most people I know have no confidence that our politicians are doing anything that will save the US.

Those points you mentioned are not U.S.-specific; but apply to many other Western countries. Years of mismanagement, on my fronts, by gov’ts.

Also, realistically & broadly, politicians are not viewed favorably in most Western countries; they’re notorious for promising much more than they can or will deliver. So, it’s a matter of voters choosing the best they can each time from what is available.

Personally, as a priority, immigration needs to be significantly curtailed - that’s a starter.
