You may not believe this, but Donald Trump may have started his run as president with highly dubious claim.
After bounding on stage at his headquarters, Trump Tower, the bombastic billionaire looked up at the crowd that surrounded him in awe.
Whoa, Trump said. That is some group of people. Thousands. Theres been no crowd like this.
However, we were there, and it seemed like there were no more than a few hundred supporters lined up to watch Trump speak.
Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks told Business Insider the campaign did not have an "official tally." However, she said it would be "wildly inaccurate" to say less than 1,000 people were in attendance. She said the campaign was "expecting over 1,000." In addition to the people in the audience area, Hicks claimed there were people watching in bars and restaurants within Trump Tower as well as passers by who viewed the event on televisions set up outside.
"There were a lot of people probably that you couldn't see," Hicks said.

“An 8 billion net worth isn’t something to sneeze at matey.
For what it’s worth, that 8 billion dollar number is . . . bovine excrement. Not surprising coming from a self-promoting clown like Trump.”
He’s going to have to file financial disclosure, isn’t he. So then we will know, won’t we. And he knows he has to do this. So I’m just sure he’s lying about his worth, knowing this, isn’t he. Put your thinking cap on.
You can relax, right after he announced FOX had several on belittling Trump the way MSNBC belittles Palin.
Did you read the link I posted? The biggest chunk of his supposed net worth is essentially his personal brand (licensing deals, etc.), which he values at $3.3 billion. That is simply not a defensible number. You don’t think it’s *possible* that Donald Trump would over-value his own personal brand?

Trump’s “brand” is indeed worth a bunch of money. A big bunch. We will see what he is worth with his financial disclosure. Let’s just say, for argument’s sake, that he is worth $5 billion rather than 8 billion. That ain’t peanuts, toots. How much have you made?
He has never filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, although some of his businesses have lawfully filed for chpater 11 protection -- like a lot of businesses. Seems to me that he learned from his mistakes and has bounced back big.
BTW -- I understand that Jebby Bush served on the board of directors of a company that went bankrupt and engaged in a masive fraud that sent the CEO to prison for 12.5 years.
How do you know that? Were you there? According to CNN, he endorsed and supported McCain and spoke very highly of Palin: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/18/trump-endorses-mccain/ IIRC, Trump is also a birther and directly challenged Obama to release his college and law school transcripts.
Maybe Trump wasn’t willing to pay for an *audience*.
I saw other FReepers saying it, seems FReepers know everything, just going with the flow. :p
Seems to me that he learned from his mistakes and has bounced back big
I pray someone can help America bounce back...big.
LOL - I appreciate your honesty.
End of statement
That is all.
Funny how these populist, conservative sounding wild cards seem to pop up when a Clinton is running.....
This is what happens every time. The need for campaign cash wins over principles.
My irritation is that the politician will literally dump on the supporters and try to package a bad policy as though it isn't what it really is.
I figure on this trade bill, that the GOP is all for it because they want it if they win. Right there is the problem. We will have another RINO extraordinaire that will lose and Hillary will benefit.
Don't want him as a president, but he will liven things up for a bit.
