Like what?
We start by toning down the rhetoric. I cringe every time I read the word “faggot” in a post here - all that does is make us feel better while reinforcing the stereotype that we’re all gay-hating bigots.
Then we look to areas where we can still salvage a win. Religious exemptions, protections for churches. We’ve lost the war, but there are still important battles where we can claim a victory.
Then we take this lesson and apply it to the larger fights. We stop living in our echo chamber. We pay attention to where the country really is, instead of where we’d like it to be.
