White people have been reaping the rewards of appropriating black culture for years. At least Rachel Dolezal was doing it to educate others.
Theres been a lot of outrage directed at Rachel Dolezal, the civil rights activist recently outed for passing as a black woman. But some of us are scratching our heads trying to figure out why Dolezals particular case has evoked such anger when shes simply doing what has been standard in American culture for years: hijacking aspects of black culture, and black beauty in particular, reaping the rewards while black women with the same attributes rarely do.
According to reports, and accompanying photos, as part of her alleged fraud, Dolezal tanned her skin and braided her hair. So in other words shes like a zillion white female celebrities. Since my “outside” hero, Ornete Coleman died a few days ago, it is my sincere aspiration for this story to get, in his honor, as absolutely fricking weird as it possibly can. I mean, this is like free-form reality jazz. And let me say, even at this early juncture, we are well on our way. I am so eager to find out who will be the final arbiter of how we are supposed to regard this epic-in-progress.
She had crotch itch. Rofl
Don't forget that Obamacare levies a tax on indoor tanning, meaning that Obamacare is clearly trans-racist.
Because beauty, just like ugliness, is more than skin deep.
Fear not good citizen, they'll show up to this thread any minute now.
I’m think I’m in love.
And narrowing their noses. Of all the reasons why white women alter their appearance, trying to look black isn't one of them. Sorry, lady. You're on crack.
Yep. The puzzling dynamic is the Asian men, who seem to prefer white women over their own. Some sort of Trans-Pacific trade agreement seems to be in order. ;-)

Lupita Nyong’o is a very beautiful dark-skinned woman.
There’s beautiful women everywhere, I don’t know why everything has to be black and white. But, that being said everyone has their preferences beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
There are some very beautiful Ethiopian women. Dark skin, amber eyes, long graceful neck, sort of lanky but a natural elegance.
A true black and a likeable animal. Imagine if the horse was brown and looked like a mule/burro combo. Black is black and there are some - good ones even. It’s all about something most aren’t to begin with. This one drop at college admissions drives me angry as its is racist.
So white women haven’t been giving black women credit for the popularity of corn rows and big butts? This is one of he dumbest articles I’ve ever read.
Should we start listing the styles and products of white culture adopted by black women?
It is indeed delightful to watch. Especially on Twitter. Twist, twist, twist.
I think you can find beauty everywhere, I’ve been on dates with white women, asian women, and hispanic women. I think women who have great personalities and take care of themselves look beautiful. I’m currently engaged to a white woman, but back in the day if I would have found someone who had the right personality and look race would not have mattered.
