Baltimore tourism industry tries to put riots in rear view mirror (Good luck with that!)

In the wake of months of unrest and a record month of murders, Baltimore may be a tough sell to potential vacationers as a destination for care-free summer fun.
That won't stop hotels, restaurants, attractions and city officials in Charm City, who insist they are up for the challenge.
For Baltimore's economy, the stakes are high. About 80,000 local jobs are dependent on the tourism industry, and close to 24 million tourists visited the city and spent $5.15 billion in 2013, a 2.2 percent increase in visitor spending over the year before.

Why not try going to a real restaurant and not a chain? The whole point of cities is that they have real restaurants. I mean, just try Yelp or Chowhound or Open Table.

Fearless prediction..the Orioles will win the AL East, at about the same time the cases against the 6 Baltimore cops are tossed, and rioting/looting breaks out again. So MLB moves the O’s home playoff games to Washington, and then a REALLY BIG RIOT breaks out..

AKA the paramilitary wing of the Democrat party.
It should never be mentioned without this historical fact.

Note to self: Cancel any vacation planned for baltimore...especially because the city seems to have lost the title “Charm City”. Of course, there could be a thrill in being chased by criminals and ferals wishing to injure me.

Same thing happened to me at a TGIF in Greenbelt Maryland, and an Applebee's in College Park Maryland. Both appeared to be black owned. Both towns in PG (Prince George's) County in Maryland, the blackest county in the state.

It may seem that way, it’s not. It’s a wonderful place to live if you avoid the ghettos.
Personally, I don’t get the draw of San Fran which I have to visit annually.

Vision, that’s good to know. Son and DIL are in NJ and we’ve been wanting to see the Francis Scott Key site not too far from there. And we NEVER go into San Fran.
