Went several years ago as part of a school trip with our son. We went to a TGI Fridays for lunch. All the staff and customers were black and turned to stare when we came in. Hostess gave us attitude and seated us, where we sat for about 20 minutes with no one greeting us, giving us menus or taking our drink order. WE finally decided it felt like a very hostile environment and wouldn’t trust what they would do to our food, anyway, so got up and left. Can you imagine if a black family was treated this way at a majority-white restaurant? It would be national news. Our son was about 11 at the time and asked more than a few times why everyone was so mean, loud and obnoxious.
Armored bus tours?
After CPAC in 2008, I went to Baltimore to see the Inner Harbor, the Constellation, Ft. McHenry and the church where the hymn Jesus Saves was first performed--which is across a park from where H. L. Mencken lived.
I thought Little Italy was touristy and overpriced, but I did manage to find a good Italian dinner.
If they want to attract tourists they should turn the black ghetto into an entertainment theme park like Dollywood, Frontier World, Colonial Williamsburg or Sea World.
They could call it Ghetto World.
It would have attractions like staged gang banger gunfights n the streets, actors dressed as police getting beat to a pulp and shot, a scary ride in fake hijacked cars, and black rioters looting and burning down buildings.
It would a fun time for the entire family.

I’d rather visit Zimbabwe.
What I get a kick out of are the YUPPIES with too much money on their hands. They wind up buying these terribly overpriced high-rise condos so they can “experience the city”. Absolute IDIOTS. Now they’re trapped. They’ll have to get in their car and DRIVE (oh, the horror) just to find a place to eat. Love it!
The analogy is that if you are going to live in the wild with a bunch of lions, don’t be so sure that they will always be peaceful. It took some TOUGH POLICING to keep portions of Baltimore relatively safe...those days are over, probably for a long time.
Well, in a city like Baltimore, if you’re going to go to TGI Fridays, you deserve what you get.
Americans can’t unsee what has been seen.
I call TGI’s corporate offices and tell them your story.
There’s the tunnel, the harbor, the ball field, the fort, John Waters, ...
New Baltimore tourism tagline:
“Baltimore...we’re not Mogadishu-on-the-Cheaspeake. Really...we’re not!”
we went a few years ago for the War of 1812 celebration. It was a great few days because the place was filled with police, uniformed military and a sense of safety but we didn’t leave the hotel after dark and always stayed within screaming distance of a police officer. that city always had an unsettled feeling, like a firecracker with an long fuse waiting for a light.
I don’t plan on ever returning.
Come to Baltimore and se the burnt out businesses , the wild dirt bike idiots running rampant in the streets the Black Gorilla Gang , the Crypts , the Bloods and all the murders you can stomach on your next vacation or even a business convention .
I took a cruise out of Baltimore on Easter Sunday, two weeks before the riots. The night before I stayed at a nicely run hotel in the city that offered shuttle to and from the port and parking.
The hotel was professionally run, by folks who seemed to be primarily inner city residents. The shuttle driver was resourceful and excellent at giving us every advantage to stay in front of the crowds. The dock operations were smooth and pleasant. Everything about the encounter was first rate.
It's bizarre that people who benefit from things like the port being a cruise ship choice didn't speak out and demand that city leaders not let the rioting happen. Didn't they realize it was their jobs at stake?
So will the police respond to calls in other parts of town? Or if they find out the perp is Black, will they do anything?
I think we could create in Baltimore a Jurassic Park type theme ride, Have specially built armored cars and go thru the city and observe the locals carry on their business of lawlessness. They could put on little shows like in “West World”.
The dinosaurs were more evolved than the ferals of Baltimore.
“what happened in Baltimore was confined to a black ghetto. The rest of the city is fine.”
Well, my understanding is that withdrawal of policing has taken place across the board in Baltimore, not just the ghettos. Arrests are down, way down, in every neighborhood in Baltimore according to this article in the Baltimore Sun:
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/bs-md-arrests-decline-20150613-story.html#page=1
This is not going to bode well, especially when the ghetto dwellers realize the rest of the city is their pearl crime-wise.
