Really, and who decides who is making good profit vs crony profits, you? Wouldn’t that be cronyism?

No offense meant (really), but your post #1 is a bit of a mess. But you do make some very good points!

It is unfair to say that the Cruzes will make a ton of money of the TTP. That is something we just don't know, yet.

But it is very fair - almost mandatory, really - to point out that Cruz does have a connection to Goldman Sachs. That's the plain truth, and involves no guesswork or personal opinions. It's part of the overall picture, and so bears watching.

I myself don't put much weight in that. But if Goldman's contributions to Cruz spike, or if his wife gets a sudden promotion, well, that would get my attention.

Interesting link (Warren). Some old timey anti-capitalism in there, probably some protectionism in disguise. But the pro-trade position is moderate, for Cruz it is one of his few moderate positions (the rest are conservative). Expanding trade is not going to expand "conservative-based" industries (whatever that is). It is going to expand all trade-based industries, which will expand the economy as whole, but result in some losers, mainly those Americans working in trade-based industries who are paid a lot more than foreign workers.

I think moderation in trade policy is disappointing, but not a deal breaker. I would much rather have protectionism by abolishing the corporate income tax.

TPP is a crony capitalist document meant to SELECT who Wins and BLOCKS those who did not PAYOFF Obama, VJ,the Senate and The House.
TPP removes major corporations from US laws and sets up a EU Like Commission to decide who can trade and win and loses. There Is no free market . Its a Rigged Game . Goldman Sachs helped write the thing. Six Goldman Execs jumps ship and some jump back after the put this Trojan Horse together . Go ahead and read up on it. Its old news here.

"Will you stop it with conflating a vote for the TPA as having voted for the TPP? Crud, what is wrong with so many FReepers? Are all of you nuts?"

Thank you. I was just getting ready to post the same but decided to read further. Plus since the TAA didn't pass, it makes the TPA moot.

Plus, I'm sick of posters here confusing the secrecy of the multi-nation negotiations for TPP (which is on-going) with the open TPA and TAA bills. What happened to the reading abilities of so many on this forum, not to mention logical analysis?

I believe Cruz’s wife is already a partner at GS. That’s big money and profit sharing right there.

Come on now. Really?

Seems to be a pretty fair topic for discussion.

And I'm a Cruz fan.

"I’m not seeing it anywhere else. There are the forever rabid liberals on twitter who always hate Cruz (And other extreme right wingers like Lindsey Graham)

Some general anger at all republicans but nothing really unusual being directed at Cruz."

That's suspicious, then. Especially since, as you noted, the Paulbots have recently disappeared.

And I have yet to see any display of fury toward Scott Walker, who holds the SAME position as Cruz.

Apparently some folks want Cruz destroyed.

TPP blocks those who don't pay off the DC elites .

The DC insiders wrote a trade bill for there donors and clients .

Its not a free and open market arrangement.

Look it up.

You are creating a straw man argument.

No one is talking about Israel. LOL!

S....M.....H.....

That's what this is about. That's why the JBS supports people like Buchanan and Paul and opposes people like Ted Cruz.

Anti-Semitism assumes that the "world government" being plotted by the usual list of villains (CFR, Illuminati, etc.) is identical to the Messianic kingdom which Judaism teaches will be at the end of history. Since anti-Jewish chrstians don't believe in a literal Davidic king ruling the world from Jerusalem (since they have a "spiritual" messiah who rules from heaven), they twist it into a G-dless world government and imply that Judaism is behind all such things. Ted Cruz is the most explicitly pro-Jewish and pro-Israel traditional conservative to ever run for President. His wife "works for Goldman-Sachs." Do the math.

Please don't waste your time making silly comments like "LOL!" What are you . . . twelve?

"Problem is, that if TPA passes, then the top-secret TPP sails through too..."

No it doesn't. However, the TPA does exclude Congressional amendments and filibusters - not good. Still, it requires an up-down vote with 60 days of public scrutiny. And by the looks of things, with the Dims protecting their unions, it's not a done deal.

Why do we attack the spouses of candidates? Why do we only attack the spouse of Ted Cruz?

FICTION: “Essentially, Cruz’s wife Heidi once worked for Merrill Lynch and is a Goldman Sachs Regional Manager, which is a little concerning, given, you know, the massive bailouts and their involvement with the Federal Reserve in deflating our currency and killing our economy.”

FACT: Heidi Cruz is a wealth manager in the Houston office helping families and foundations and is not connected with the company’s Washington operations. She has always been located in Houston while employed at Goldman Sachs. And, the division Heidi worked in was not connected to the portion of the bank that received bailout money. Her division would not have been affected even if Goldman had not received the bailout!

Heidi has taken a leave of absence from her work to focus full-time on the campaign with her husband. Sen. Cruz unequivocally opposes bailouts that reward big banks and corporations at the expense of American taxpayers.

There has also been some rumblings regarding Heidi supposedly working for the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Heidi never “worked” for the CFR, but she was a “term member” of the CFR (one of 4,500 members, I might add). She is NO LONGER involved with CFR but she did participate in a Task Force on the topic of free trade under the Bush administration. However, as a member of this task force, she vigorously defended and called for free-market principles.

“Economic prosperity and a world safe from terrorism and other security threats are no doubt inextricably linked. While governments play an invaluable role in both regards, we must emphasize the imperative that economic investment be led and perpetuated by the private sector. There is no force proven like the market for aligning incentives, sourcing capital, and producing results like financial markets and profit-making businesses.” (Emphasis added).

Lest anyone question where Sen Cruz stands on CFR, his record has been UNEQUIVOCAL that he believes CFR has been a pernicious force trying to undermine U.S. sovereignty – something Sen. Cruz has spent years fighting to defend. Indeed, Sen. Cruz has a proven record of fighting to defend U.S. sovereignty.
