DEVELOPING: The female prison employee at the center of an investigation into the escape of two killers was arrested Thursday and charged with providing them assistance.
The New York State Police said Joyce Mitchell, 51, faced two felony charges related to helping Richard Matt and David Sweat escape from the Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York one week ago.
The men are still at large.
Mitchell was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 1st Degree, and Criminal Facilitation, 4th Degree, both felonies, police said.
Earlier, the local district attorney said she had provided "equipment" to the pair, but not the power tools they are believed to have used to cut their way out of the maximum-security facility.
However, Wylie said Mitchell, a supervisor in the prison's tailoring shop, brought "contraband" into the prison but he declined to elaborate on what, specifically, she gave them. He said Mitchell can be criminally charged for her alleged role but no charges have been filed yet.

I have been riding for forty three years. I am widowed now, but my hubby and i used to ride from Boston the DC every year for Rolling Thunder, and then take off from there to ride the Blue Ridge, or Colonial Parkway, or go to Virginia beach. We often would stray into West Va...Almost Heaven!
I look forward to taking a trip up to my grandmothers in western NC and trailering it up and taking a round trip through the Natahala Gorge which is close by.
A trailer is the budget for early next month. I had a hitch and wiring pigtail put on last Friday (my birthday present to me).

The cops were not watching the boats nor the Trains nor the taxis- til 3 days later- check it out- They coulda checked into a motel and caught the hotel van to Amtrak or - they probably had new ID`s made for them on the outside just waiting to be picked up- Thesed guys know [-people on the outside- excons who also probabl helped hem get away - awerlllduhhh theses guys way way are smarter than the cops, way way smarter- plus they probably are armed now also- coz aLL these cons know on the outside who can give them guns when on the run- they ain`t stupoid—they probably know drug runners from montreal who would give them guns- I predict they will be picked up in Florida- in 2018- They probably left some clothes and articles for the bloodhounds to pick up; then they backtracked, reversed their steps and went in the opposite diection- well duhhhh
