DEVELOPING: The female prison employee at the center of an investigation into the escape of two killers was arrested Thursday and charged with providing them assistance.
The New York State Police said Joyce Mitchell, 51, faced two felony charges related to helping Richard Matt and David Sweat escape from the Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York one week ago.
The men are still at large.
Mitchell was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 1st Degree, and Criminal Facilitation, 4th Degree, both felonies, police said.
Earlier, the local district attorney said she had provided "equipment" to the pair, but not the power tools they are believed to have used to cut their way out of the maximum-security facility.
However, Wylie said Mitchell, a supervisor in the prison's tailoring shop, brought "contraband" into the prison but he declined to elaborate on what, specifically, she gave them. He said Mitchell can be criminally charged for her alleged role but no charges have been filed yet.

Female guards housing male prisoners was such a PC idea with predictable outcomes.
He made her feel special.

I’ve never understood how women get into a relationship or “fall in love” with hardened criminals, especially murderers in prison.
Messed up in their minds is an under statement.
Just goes to show the caliber of people they’re putting into these types of positions.
Like the cop recently who opened up on the guy who was 50+ feet away, shooting him in the back as he was running fast away from the cop. There was zero threat to the cop.

I hear you. There should be no females in any job allowed inside the walls of a men’s prison.
Yeah. I’m glad they got that cop on video. I think it would have been easily provable anyway, but this leaves no doubt.
It is dumb enough that she fell in love with him, but then she decided to commit a felony for him. For the first stupidity, I feel sorry for her. For the second, I do not.
It’s costing MILLIONS of DOLLARS to search for the murderers and everyone who has a house in that area are PETRIFIED!!!! FRY HER!!!!

Legendary hit-man Charles Harrelson got married in a Federal Prison to a loon from Sugar Land, Texas. His son, Woody, stood up with the idiot bride as daddy’s proxy. Charles’ final gig got him incarcerated for assassinating a federal judge.
She wasn't a guard. She was a civilian instructor. And male guards have gotten involved with female inmates. Some people, both male and female shouldn't be working behind bars. Weak and needy people have no place in those jobs. They put everyone else in jeopardy.

The old axiom 'Absolute power corrupts absolutely' as well as 'Familiarity breeds contempt' are dangerous enough individually.
Either one gives the weak mind a false sense of security but both combined will trick a person into thinking they are invulnerable.

Females are attracted to males who do dangerous things. It’s called stotting behavior. A woman may be attracted to a race car driver, for example, because the danger is arousing. But the minute she has him she wants him to settle down and nest. In short, women are crazy.
