House Democrats rebuffed a dramatic personal appeal from President Obama on Friday, torpedoing his ambitious push to expand his trade negotiating power and, quite likely, his chance to secure a legacy-defining trade accord spanning the Pacific Ocean.

Ryan, Boner and the rest of the rinos are all in a meeting. They’re saying to Boner “Surely Obama won’t spill the dirt he has on us. It’s not our fault it failed.”
And Boner replied “No, he’ll save the dirt to blackmail us on something in the future.”

The Bill would have passed hadn’t Obama stuck his nose into it!

Geeze, Cruz could have been a hero.
He was at a crossroad.
Disappointing.

I suspect the dems have concluded the next POTUS will be a Republican and have decided they need to start placing some limits on executive authority... Interesting take on the topic.

Roger Hedgecock just said Obama DID win.
So which is it?

The really important fact is right here:
"By doing so, they brought down legislation granting the president trade promotion authority the power to negotiate trade deals that cannot be amended or filibustered by Congress before it could even come to a final vote."
In other words, Democrats saw this as a ploy to deal them out of the game and said, "Oh, hell no."
The GOP scum have no such excuse.

Republican leaders then passed a stand-alone trade promotion bill, but that would force the Senate to take up a trade bill all over again. And without trade adjustment assistance alongside it, passing trade promotion authority in the Senate would be highly doubtful.

The article did a good job of what happened. TPP by itself passed the House but that stand alone bill needs to go back to the Senate and without the TAA component it is dead.

I’m a little bit confused here but it looks like TPA passed but the trade assistance, TAA failed.

This rising probability the Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, may fail in gaining access to the Oval Office, is beginning to feed on the minds of most of the Democrat caucus in both the House and Senate.
May their thinking become fully consumed by this doubt.

I have a different take on this. I think Obama and Pelosi collaborated to make sure this bill wasn’t passed even though Obama was supposedly for this.
Pelosi is now a hero for listening to the American people who clearly didn’t want this monstrosity.
The pubes got taken again. It’s like major baseball against the little league.
