The House this morning takes up the bill to authorize Obama to negotiate a Trans-Pacific trade deal. Despite the GOP leadership's support, conservatives may well defeat it: they fell by one vote short last night, on a procedural vote on the rule, that would have killed it. I guess Boehner and Obama showed the Dems they could pass TPA and if they wanted TAA the Dems better vote in.

They're voting the customs part of this evil trinity. It is going to pass big time. This is the part that republican language was added which limits obammy from negotiating climate change or immigration in any trade deal.

Dems are voting against and republicans voting overwhelmingly for it.

At some point they will vote on Boehner's motion to reconsider the TAA part. All 3 have to pass or none take effect.

This vote is instead on the motion to concur in Senate amendment with an amendment to H.R. 644 I gather. Or rather ‘guess’ LOL!

And technically.... once this passes it has to go back to the Senate because they amended the senate version by adding the climate change and immigration language.

Right ..... they are voting to concur with the senate motion, but have also added their own amendment. SO it will have to go back to the Senate at some point..... And will easily pass there.

Obamacare was not passed using TPA. It is TPA that makes the 60 days a requirement.

Its not over yet. The dems will have to flip flop big time on TAA to get all of this through. That means someone right now is promising Pelosi something.... We’ll find out someday what that promise is.
