Ted Cruz fights GOP approach on Obamacare subsidies
Politico ^ | 06/11/2015 | Manu Raju

Ted Cruz is planning to battle his party over Obamacare again — this time, if Senate Republicans seek to extend subsidies that could be killed by the Supreme Court as soon as this month.

In an interview with POLITICO, the 2016 presidential candidate weighed in on the high-stakes Supreme Court case that could end subsidies for millions of people who receive their health insurance through the federal exchange. A majority of Republican senators have endorsed an approach to keep those subsidies in place until September 2017, but Cruz flatly said “no” when asked if he’d sign on as well.

“I think the best legislative option is to allow states to opt out,” Cruz said in the Capitol. “I am cautiously optimistic that the Supreme Court will conclude in King vs. Burwell that the Obama IRS disregarded the plain language of the statute and acted lawlessly. And when that occurs, it will be a real opportunity for Congress to lead.”

He added: “In a perfect world, we would take that opportunity to repeal Obamacare. At a minimum, we should allow states to opt out.”

I will be very disappointed if he ultimately votes in favor of Obamatrade. I am not convinced that he will.

Regarding fast track authority, there is a legitimate argument that can be made that Presidents need to be able to negotiate in good faith with other countries without the threat of Congress holding up and changing the negotiations midstream. I don't know if I fully agree with that argument but it can legitimately be made. This is especially true if he thinks he might be President someday and have a Congress that is controlled by the Dems.

I don't know this answer and I would be curious to find out....Has a Democrat controlled congress ever given a Republican president fast track authority on a trade bill or a treaty such as they are working on with Iran?

Cruz's 'Yes' vote on the TPA paves the way for a Global Affordable Care Act that favors pharmaceutical companies at the expense of sick people, just like with Obamacare in America.

WikiLeaks said "The Healthcare Annex seeks to regulate state schemes for medicines and medical devices. It forces healthcare authorities to give big pharmaceutical companies more information about national decisions on public access to medicine, and grants corporations greater powers to challenge decisions they perceive as harmful to their interests."

This means that American senior citizens and people unable to afford medical care and medicine here in the United States will be unable to shop for affordable prices in other countries. The Big Pharm will enjoy an unrestricted monopoly to charge unreasonable prices to every person affected, in which goverment will happily subsidize with taxpayers dollars, just like they do with Obamacare.

So the Supreme Court might strike down Obamacare, but the ObamaTrade treaty will make that moot as Obama's legacy is ensured with the Global Obamacare that will bankrupt the middle class citizens throughout the world.

This is what Cruz does not want you to know about.

ANNEX ON TRANSPARENCY AND PROCEDURAL FAIRNESS FOR PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS AND MEDICAL DEVICES

Yes. His vote on Obamatrade, along with most of the Republicans, was to support the Obama agenda, and that is NOT conservative, and as Drudge correctly observed, it is treason. He voted with Obama on the Iranian armament bill. These votes will change your life. If you want to submerge the United States into a global cabal, Cruz is trying to deliver that to you. If you want Iran to be capable of striking the United States with nuclear missiles, Cruz is trying to deliver that to you. He wants to establish his conservative credentials with words. He may draw a line in the sand over some subset of Obamacare, or announce, again, how much he loves the Constitution. Words are so cheap.

Senator Sessions told how the fast track works on Rush’s program today. Congress will have 20 hours to vote, with no discussion whatsoever. He said the bill would be entered in at 4 pm one evening and the vote would have to be taken before lunch the next day. If you can find anything legitimate in that, please clue me in.

“If we can just get Cruz past this TPA thing”

Get him past it to do what vote for TPP? How do you get past saying you are the biggest conservative in the universe and then vote to give a Muzzie loving commie full throttle authority to negotiate a 12 country trade deal that will encompass 40% of the world’s GDP? Please explain that to me. Why would Cruz even entertain giving up the authority to cut and paste any agreement Obama wants to make? Cruz is dead to me and I imagine a great many former fans like me. This is a total lapse of judgment on the part of Ted Cruz.

About the only politician who lived up to his campaign promises that I know of was Reagan. I bet anything that 80% of the people on this site believe Bobby Jindal is conservative. Like Cruz he very carefully goes about the country saying precisely the conservative thing. I’m here in Louisiana; he is talking out of both sides of his mouth. He governs just like Obama. He term expires in Janurary and he is leaving the state finances in shambles. He’ll never win another election in Louisiana.

Here's a link to THEBLAZE TV if you have a subscription.
Start at 02:34:35 and go thru to 02:48:45 .
But the whole 3 hour show, especially with Rabbi Daniel Lapin from the American Alliance of Jews and Christians, is well worth your time.

Now that sentence IMMEDIATELY makes me AGAINST THE BILL: As long as THAT FACT is in the bill, I will NEVER be for it, and will ALWAYS BE AGAINST THAT BILL !
But let's look at what else he made clear. NEVER LET THIS ABOMINATION (Obama-Nation) OF A BILL GET STARTED.

KILL IT NOW !

From what I have read, that is not accurate. I have read that TPA allows 45 days after it is submitted to the committee to go over the agreement and study it. The actual vote will only be 20 hours per house but it’s not like it is secret one day then the president presents it to congress and they have 20 hours to pass it. It will be public anywhere from 45 to 90 days before it is fully passed by both houses of congress.

This is all under the caveat - if they follow the rules, if they make it all public, if what I have read is correct.

If the 20 hours is completely meaningless, why is it there?

If he votes against Obamatrade after voting in TPA to remove the Senate filibuster, and it passes, Cruz has pulled a John Kerry “I was for the bill before I was against it” move.
