"...He resigned voluntarily. Let him go. It’s done...."

Actually, no.

He resigned because he was under enormous pressure: His political hack chief threw him under the bus, and offered no protection to his family. His 2 girls are now being targeted for violence by black racists.

Blacks are tweeting his address to other hateful people and urging his family be attacked. He is a target now, and is now going into hiding lest he and his family are attacked physically.

So no. He did not resign "voluntarily".

Yeah, that’ll do wonders for the morale of the rest of the police force, won’t it?

I think there’s now an actual (as opposed to just in the movies) emerging market for companies that provide enhanced private security services. Not at the same level as Executive Outcomes or Blackwater, but well above the typical mall cop/Paul Blart type stuff.

His family has had death threats. An actor Dennis L.A.White (never heard of him) was on twitter urging people to locate the family and beat the heck out of his little girls.

You know the police won’t go after someone advocating violence toward children if they are black.

I have no doubts he received some threatening tweets.
But the PD didn’t fire him. The hadn’t even finished their investigation.
So yes he did leave voluntarily even if the circumstances were stressful.
But in any case it’s done now.
What he did or didn’t do right o who said what to who doesn’t matter at this point with regards to this particular situation.
