"Duck Dynasty" star Jep Robertson is opening up about sexual abuse he says happened when he was just a child.
The reality star, 37, has written a book "The Good, the Bad, and the Grace of God: What Honesty and Pain Taught Us About Faith, Family, and Forgiveness," and decided to speak to "Entertainment Tonight" about claims in the book he was abused at the age of 6.
"It was on a school bus. It was an older girl," he said, not revealing her name. "There was this girl there that was just real mean. I think in the end, I think probably she was just terribly abused herself. But it was a lot of things took place and scary stuff. It was tough."
Robertson claimed he didn't tell anyone about what that girl did to him.
"I didn't want to go to school. I had a lot of absences," he told "ET," adding his mother always thought he was just sick.
Robertson added that it was his wife, Jessica, who helped him get through it by talking it out.

When I was in first grade back in 1964 a second grade girl came up to me in the play ground and asked me if I knew what Ellie May’s last name was.
I said “Clampett”.
And she did! That really hurt.
I could say it was sexual abuse but it wasn’t. It was a valuable lesson to think for a moment before answering a woman’s question and realize they are not all sweet and innocent.
Still, I’ve been divorced twice so I can say I have not figured out women at all.
Agree ...wth are these people thinking.
FWIW dept. Im an old guy now but back in the day I was often abused in mexican border town cat houses...I was about 12 and quit at the age of 15....
Last time the media “went after them” sales of their merch and ratings of their show went through the roof. They probably made an extra 2 or 3 million dollars from the media “getting” them. So why wouldn’t they be hoping to be thrown into the briar patch again?
“Im sorry but that is not abuse.”
He was six; she was in high school. She made him fondle her and take down his pants so she could fondle him. It had an affect on him until adulthood.
How is that not abuse??
I forgot about that one.
He made a good point about the absences and mom thinking that you are either sickly or faking. I had my share of being bullied in 3-7 grades, before I learned to defend myself. It is hard to got to school with any abuse happening.
It’s a vicious circle. They get abused, then they create reality tv shows to abuse the rest of us.
“abccbsnbc”
Ya mean the:
All Barak Channel
Constant Barak Station
Nonstop Barak Channel
?
Cogent post based on what he actually said
Wasted on concern trolls
As usual
“He’s ruined for life apparently”
“It had an affect” is not quite the same as “ruined for life”.
Have a teenager fondle your 6 year old, and then get back to me on whether or not it’s a big deal.
They just need to stick to making duck calls. cancel the dumb show get on with life
He got on with his life instead of joining the grievance brigade like so many do
Our culture is full of women and homosexual celebrities who’ve made careers out of moaning about bad crap in their childhood
Jep Robertson didn’t do that he cowboyed up and carried on
I applaud that
Don’t put words in my mouth please
Why do grievance concern trolls here do that to everyone who says anything doesn’t suit their template
Applauding Jep is not condoning his abusers actions except to those with their own agenda
“And now the left will make attempt #2 to destroy The Robertson Family.”
Nah, it will have to wait because they are just getting started on the Duggars.
The Duck Call business is obviously doing great. Before Duck Dynasty they did hunting and fishing shows as I understand it for Outdoor Channel.
The Robertson family is an example of GOD's Grace and them allowing GOD to use their talents including the Redneck humor to witness for HIM. Most posters likely have only seen the show. They do appearances giving testimony before others as well. Again they all can be found free on YouTube.
I can't understand the flames posters are doing to the family. If you want to minister to others to help them then would it not make logical sense that the person would have to talk about it?
The eldest son whom is the preacher had serious marital problems and he talks of forgiveness. He was the one who forgave. Phil's testimony most know about. Si? His son was diagnosed as a child with a serious mental issue in his early childhood {Ausphegers}. That illness was leading to self destruction. Today that son is career Army. Even their friend Mountain Man the one who acts dumb has his testimony he gives. The Lord found him while they were filming the show. The assembly line episode with the canoe taping was the night of his Baptism after filming was over.
They have money and likely plenty of it. Willies wife is part of the Howard publishing company and the family owned Howards department store.
Phil it seems as much as possible on the show tries to get a message out to younger audiences and others who have gone down the road he went and not yet found The Lord. He makes no excuses that what he did was wrong rather he focuses on salvation.
Jeb didn't see most of his dads prior behavior like the other boys did. Yet what he went through in the event he describes obviously severely disturbed him likely with a lot of guilt that wasn't his but lead to some destructive behavior within himself.
Their show is the only one on A&E left I bother to watch. The family seems pretty open to telling their own problems and use it in their testimonies. As such I have no issue nor see a wrong in it.
On the other hand I'm very sick and tired of Bruce Jenner Threads where the media is glorifying blatant evil. Huge difference. To whom does the Robertson's give the glory?
Outstanding post ‘snipe.
Thanks for posting it, it was surely needed on this thread.
You do not need to study the Scriptures long to learn why sinners meet reverses and anguish. They are apart from God. Their sorrow is the result of their sins.
But why do Christians suffer? Scripture teaches that many Christians suffer so that they may fellowship with others who are in affliction. Only those who have known sorrow and suffering can have fellowship with those in affliction.
The Word of God also teaches that Christians suffer in order that they might glorify God in their lives. The Bible further teaches that Christians suffer in order that God might teach them lessons in prayer. Also, Christians suffer in order that God might bring them to repentance.

I was just trying to point out that they aren’t the ones who are against us. They aren’t the ones making a mockery of GOD and fighting against GOD’s Word or persecuting believers. Are they perfect? Nope and all I would imagine would have have said as much.
ACTS "9:10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias.
And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
9:11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, 9:12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
9:13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: 9:14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: 9:16 For I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
