the two cops came in to assist him. One followed his instructions to go chase the dude that had been most aggressive. he did so and brought him back. Notice that the officer never holsters his weapon till later.
It is obvious the other two cops were not concerned about the drawn weapon.

You made that up. Both the cops came and followed the instructions of the guy with the gun. He continued as the lead and instructed one of the others to chase down the most aggressive dude, which he did.
As one can see in the video, the cop continued to restrain the girl and is alone in the video.
I am not defending the cop just showing that you have not seen reality.

I’m not making assumptions on this particular case. I am saying that generally if a mob starts moving toward a cop to take up for the one being arrested, that cop would be dub not to be prepared.
Yes, the cop in this instance probably “acted stupidly” and from the still pics I saw it looked like a girl he was arresting could have gotten his gun if he hadn’t pulled it, because of the way he detained her.

I agree however maybe he was using the only language these kids know.
An old military buddy, who is now a Dallas PD Sgt, sent me a video of this earlier this morning.
He ALWAYS defends cops, but said this one guy was out of control. Notice that most of the other cops stay clear of him.
I’ll also note that he was bitching about having to run around in the Texas heat with 30 lbs of gear. It sounds to me like he needs a new job.

I saw that two came to his aid when he was surrounded and two then went and captured the aggressive male in the video.
Hey I agree. Cops should just wait and see whats going to happen and then deal with it. Teenagers like to horse around. Maybe he would not have gotten jumped if he had just kept is weapon holstered. I guess he just wasn’t willing to chance it.
Also, rewatching the video, I see that I was WRONG in thinking one of the cops was un-handcuffing the teenage girl that the moron cop went out of his way to go get and drag back, sadly, the second cop was handcuffing her instead. As for the cops coming to restrain the cop when he pulled his gun -- not quite, but the immediate body language says that at least one of them was approaching it that way, the one GOOD cop I see there (not two, as I thought before, just ONE). Notice that virtually ALL of kids called the cops "sir" when addressing them.
Regarding the girl, the moron cop was very clearly the physical aggressor, not the girl that he manhandled, whereas you can see the other cops pretty gently handling the kids who they'd just brought back, the two kids who had challenged the cop after seeing him manhandle a girl and shove her into the concrete, and provoked him to pull his gun, at which they wisely ran. But excuse me, ANY red-blooded American boy worth his salt would have come to that girl's defense. God bless them.
The moron cop was hysterical and deranged, and exhibited far worse behavior than any of the kids I see on the video.
