Agreed. Something is not kosher about these people suddenly deciding to speak all at once decades later.
Exactly. This is highly suspect because it is so scornful of having to come forward when the time to come forward would have been when he was the Speaker of the House.
I also do not believe that lady who claims her long dead brother was molested. How convenient that he is unavailable to question. Why didn’t she speak up long ago?
Something happened a long time ago or Hastert wouldn’t pay a blackmailer. But the scope of it is being trumped up. Also it is interesting that these stories hit just before the weekend 2 weeks in a row so the libs can talk about it all weekend long. I’m not saying it isn’t a story. I’m just saying it seems to replace stories that should be even bigger. And at this point it is more gossip than fact.

However, there have long been whispered rumors that pedophilia is rampant among the elite. From time to time people have come forward with accusations that they had been kept to be sexually used by all sorts of powerful people including Hillary Clinton, Bush 41, and other very prominent politicians.
The net is full of those stories. Are they true? Some seem crazy outlandish, but I don’t know. Is it possible some young people have been stolen and kept for months or even years and made to have sex with the rich and powerful? What percentage of Washington is either gay or a pedophile? Is this why the conservatives get to Washington and become feckless? Is that why people like Justice Roberts seem to so easily cave on their principals.
I have a family friend who worked on the Hill for a senator in the 80’s and 90’s who has told stories along these lines. She said people are too scared to come forward and accuse the most powerful people in America because no one would believe them. Plus those who do come forward with accusations are attacked, investigated, painted as loons, or otherwise marginalized.
Bottom line: I don’t know what to believe.

Perhaps he did but Hastert was ‘protected’ by his political position.
The real question is:
Who was running Hastert in Congress and what did they get from him?
As I understand it, Bucceroni was introduced in about 1979 or 1980 to a "Denny." He didn't know he was an Congressman (or aspiring) until shown a period picture years later.
Decades ago, Hastert did not have $3 mil to spare.
He knows nothing, he saw nothing he is jumping on whatever bandwagon that there is for whatever reason.
