There’s already a better candidate from Texas running.

Perry seems nice enough—but I can’t see him as president.
I prefer the other Texan in the race

Won’t be getting my vote. As my governor, he did a lot of positive things for my state; however, I can’t see him bringing much to the Presidential table. He will be more of the same. Established, elite politician.

...We already have the real thing with Ted Cruz in this race.
Perry joining is like when someone makes a similar but lower budget movie to a hit just to leech off a few bucks to unsuspecting consumers.

He gave a great speech and has plenty of Texan experience.

I don't care where he's from, I still choose Cruz.

I'll gladly vote for Ted Cruz in the general 2016 election if he gets the nomination

Governors have a bad habit of hiding from unpopular actions by blaming legislatures and claiming popular actions by claiming legislative actions as their own.

Perry is the antithesis of Cruz. The only similiarity is that they come from Texas and belong to the same political party. If Perry had his way, his lacky Lt Gov David Dewhurst would be our senator and Ted Cruz would be banished from running for political office in the state.

The Republican field is already filled with some new faces, some former candidates, and some
seasoned politicians who have never run before. It was challenging to see where a revamped
Perry effort could make much impact.
*************
The field is growing by the day it seems. Here is a listing of individuals that are in or considering getting in.

As opposed to Cruz being Obama’s lacky after he voted for Obama’s SECRET trade bill. Now, I used to be for Cruz; he says the right things, just like my two senators, but vote for Obama’s programs. Since you love Cruz, could you take some time and justify his last two votes: support for Obama’s bill allowing Iran to develop atomic bombs and support for Obama’s secret trade bill? I mean, without any venom and name calling. Just explanation. Thanking you in advance.

Cruz is the only one I see running who I believe will truly undertake the big job of deep cleaning government. He’s also the only one I’m hearing say he will rein in the power of the office he seeks.

I nominate Gov. Perry for Homeland Security.

He could try to do something like, I don’t know, get a job.
