The Obama administration is scrambling to assess the impact of an unprecedented data breach involving the agency that handles security clearances and employee records.
According to the Washington Post, Chinese hackers breached the Office of Personnel Management in December and gained access to personal information of up to 4 million current and former employees.
A congressional aide familiar with the situation, who declined to be named because he was not authorized to discuss it, says the OPM and the Interior Department were hacked. A second U.S. official who also declined to be identified said the data breach could potentially affect every federal agency.

4 million security clearance names and files in the hands of the Chinese.
WHAT COULD GO WRONG???
If the Chinese hackers can do this, what are the odds that hackers have Hillary’s e-mails? Answer: 100%
stolen is such a harsh word when there are people that give anyone the keys to all data simply for the asking ... Ask what ye shall want of the obama and the obama will say, ‘after my next election I can be more flexible’
hilly said, ‘a video caused this breach!’
I dont want the federal government focused on safeguarding sensitive personnel records. Job number one is protecting us from Global Warming!
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that well over 75% of the Chinese in this country are ACTIVE spies for China. How long before Americans with high security clearances start disappearing off the streets? And we’ll know why, as well.
Subtract that million and, worst case, the Chinese now know that there are at least two million five hundred thousand Federal folk who haven't paid a dime towards their college loans and who have been reprimanded at least once for watching kittens or porn while at work.
people have been ‘disappeared’ from the streets for years ... many were more than sub-human ... don’t tell the media ... they might figure out they are on a list too.
If the Chinese hackers can do this,...”
What are the chances they have Obama’s school transcripts and his real birth certificate?
It’d be hilarious if the hackers sent every one of them a termination notice.
It’s hard for me to believe this was completely unintentional by the 0bama/Jarrett administration. I always wonder if ‘accidents’ like this are really agreed upon compensation to Beijing for buying our gargantuan debt. Even they know they’ll never get repaid, so they’ll want something of value in return for throwing their money down the rabbit hole.
Aside from that, now that they have the goods on millions of government employees, and who knows what secrets that will lead to, that weakens our position the thump our chest in the disputed islands in the South China Sea.
What will their Union do?
Sue the Chinese?
Well we gotta Pass the TPP because if we give China “Czechloslovakia” they will stop tryign to hack us, right???
100%
These hackers work for the Chinese gubmint, they aren’t freelance black hats.
Did they use Hillary’s password?
Well, the definition of Moral Turpitude has abruptly changed. So being outed doesn’t work anymore ... in fact gets you a promotion.
These are overlooked family jewels. Knowing who’s palm to grease or finger to break in a burgeoning bureaucracy is quite valuable.
Think of criminal masterminds in a comic book, but we have no superhero. They’ll build a shadow government bureaucracy from all the corrupt and tarnished people they find in government, within and without. I would like to know the profile of the huge chunk of ordinary people who’s files were stolen earlier in the week.
I bet that the Russians also have this data, from the same hack stream.
