At the 1976 summer Olympics in Montréal, Bruce Jenner won the gold medal for the mens decathlon, setting a world record with 8616 points.
In July, Jenner will be honored with another award, this time for a much different achievement. On Monday, Time reported that at ESPNs ESPY Awards, the former worlds greatest male athlete will receive the acclaimed Arthur Ashe Award for coming out as a transgender.

“Joel McHale to host the 2015 ESPY Awards “
Wait a minute. Joel McHale host a weekly TV show that highlights clips of idiots, weirdos, people doing stupid things, and mindless idiotic behavior.
Isn’t hosting this a conflict of interest?
Got it from a blood transfusion made during a coronary bypass before homosexuals were excluded from donating.
Speaking of courage, one should consider the generation of hemophiliacs who were killed by the CDC, who just could not bring themselves to declare AIDS an epidemic and thus control the blood supply much sooner than happened.
Megyn Kelly is a liberal she just plays a center right conservative on TV.
It was fun to watch all the talking heads tiptoe through this news story yesterday. Theyre scared to death of saying a syllable that might be deemed offensive.
Yes, he did, but he was married to a woman and most likely caught bad blood from one of two heart bypass surgeries in the late 80s. Impossible to guarantee but most likely a horrible tragedy, a la Ryan White.
Meghan has jumped the shark with me
absolutely. Why this is being celebrated is beyond me.
Kelly is on the screwy side on a number of issues. Like the bogus “white privilege” issue.
Courage would be getting his unit chopped off so he could be a real women. Tits and a unit PLEASE!
And the man has a mental illness and needs help, not this silly kind of affirmation.
Whites created the American culture and people of all complexions benefit from being part of it, Now if we are going to blow up the Ivies and bar their graduates from the professions and from the civil service, then maybe I would go along!! :-)
Seems to be an insult to Arthur Ashe.
Vietnam Vets = Baby Killers
FUMSM
From a transfusion !!!!!
So if Bruce Jenner though he was a Cat and started running around with a tail, whiskers, cat suit and eating cat nip, etc..., I can’t help but wonder if ESPN would give him the same award?
I just wonder do Leftist draw the line???
Bruce Jenner was made a man by his Creator, and will ALWAYS BE... no matter how bad he wants to be a woman... a man.
Moreover, did he not just kill a woman in a traffic accident? How come they are worshiping him at this point in his life. When we heard nothing before?
He claims he is a Republican and still likes women, but he wants to dress up as a woman. Which makes me think he he might be jealous of all the attention his step daughters get. This is the guy that use to have a lot of attention and now he gets none.
In any event, how can this be considered courage?
I am starting to think whatever Leftist leaders say about anything.... is always just the reverse. It’s truly perplexing?
Nevertheless, their extremely ignorant, and highly gullible followers always fall for the malarkey hook, line and sinker.
The Arthur Ashe Award For Courage seems to be all about balls, those who HAVE them, those that WANT them and those who CUT theirs off.

and the NFL will put him in the player hall of fame because they need a quota.
ESPN is throwing away their market dominance.
It is quickly becoming a sexual freak show. Might as well have the BravoSports channel.
If the guy were courageous he would have done this decades ago. Now, he's just another freak in the Kardashian TV clan getting his own TV show for doing this.
I came to the realization back in the 70’s that I don’t need sports in my life.
Events in recent years have confirmed the wisdom of that decision.
