WASHINGTON — Sarah Palin has disappeared from the 2016 presidential campaign.
She continues to tease about running, just as she has almost since the day she was defeated as the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.
But since she spoke at two early presidential showcases this winter, including one where her rambling monologue was blasted by conservative activists and analysts, she’s essentially been missing in action.
Since late February, she’s stayed away from the eight other forums, events held almost weekly. And she’s not on the roster for the next meeting, Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s candidate summit Tuesday in Orlando.
Organizers of these events usually want her, but Palin routinely turns them down and sometimes doesn’t even respond. In some cases, sponsors have stopped asking her.

Palin hasn’t run for anything since resigning as governor halfway through her term in 2009. She suggested she might run for president in 2012, for the Senate in 2014, and now president again.
Yet she’s got no apparent organization or fundraising apparatus.
“My guess is, looking at her recent history, that her suggested ambitions to run for office are all just publicity stunts to keep her name alive nationally,” said Marc Hellenthal, a Republican strategist and pollster in Alaska.
Nor does anyone seem to eagerly be urging her to jump into a field that could have at least 15 prominent candidates. “Gov. Palin has really fallen off of the map and is a non-factor in South Carolina and most places,” Moore said.
Even in Alaska, her approval ratings are low and her state political career is over.
“When she quit in the middle of her gubernatorial term she hurt herself tremendously,” Hellenthal said.

Well considering the bashing she gets from both sides of the equation, I don’t blame her for telling the political process, and the republican elites to go suck eggs...
Considering a few of the schmups who have declared, and those that haven’t declared yet, to be of the political snobbery of the usual suspects, I’m really not impressed with more than one or two so far...The rest are there to grandstand and draw campaign donations and endorsements to keep themselves somewhat politically viable...
“There are worse women in the world.”
Theresa Heinz, Hillary Clinton and Carly Fiorina are pretty much topping that list...
She had fun. She was fun. But now it’s done. There are moose to hunt, her husband’s salmon boat to outfit. Kids’ hockey games to attend. In short, she’s a real person, not a politician or media pundit, and her real life has called her back home.
My take is she's waiting for a time next year when her endorsement will be most effective. She may also be waiting to see who gets through the gauntlet alive next year. Watching her in the past, she's going to continue to comment on issues, and hold until she knows it's right to endorse someone, and do it at a time when hers will trump others.
“...McFossil ...”
Chuckle... Good one!
It’s seems that those really suffering from Palin Derangement Syndrome are those who are completely convinced she will announce her candidacy for any office, much less the presidency. Yep, she’ll announce any day now...I feel it in my bones...Palin/Cruz, you can bank on it...
Yeah, what’s so terrible about Carlifornia?
I caught that too.
I am hoping that she will give McCain a run in the great state of Arizona
Oh, wouldn’t that be delightful?

I watched Fiorini answering someone on Fox last week.
She was formidable. Did an outstanding job.
I don’t like her politics, her rape/incest/life of mother position troubles me, but she makes Clinton look like a child by comparison.
I know where Sarah is at
She is fishing with my Alaskan uncle right now
LOL!
I have read that almost from the day she took office, she was repeatedly sued by liberals, under a stupid Alaskan law that allows these type of lawsuits, and that the state GOP refused to contribute to her defense because she had atacked the GOB GOPe.
No, I think she doesn’t want to be a legislator....She’s executive material, not the 1 of 100 type.
I think Palin is, and always will be, in the cat-bird seat!
The world is her oyster....or huckleberry if you prefer.
My understanding was, it completely had to do with her selection as John McCain’s running mate in 2008.
She originally had the highest popularity of any governor of any state, in the entire United States. Something north of 90% I believe.
When she was picked by McCain and ran as the Vice Presidential candidate that year she was wildly popular. Then of course, she became enemy number one to the democrats and a serious threat to the democrats.
When McCain did not win the election, and Palin returned to Alaska, the environment there changed completely. Palin had become enemy number one to the entire democrat party. She was sued, and sued, and sued, and Alaska law left her actually defending against all of the now numerous lawsuits. So finally one weekend (I still remember the exact moment I heard it) Palin announced she would step down from her position as governor.
What had happened was, the single most popular governor in America had become the most visible threat in all of America. And the democrat party attacked.
Again I am just operating on memory, and what I understood at the time. She realized she would be sued to the point of ruination, and decided to stand down.
I myself, believe it was all because she was recognized as a national political threat by the entire liberal establishment.
To this day, I still believe Palin was completely railroaded, from the moment Palin was selected by McCain as the GOP Vice Presidential candidate.
From her very first interview (Couric I think) the media was out to nail her to the wall. They threw everything they had in their entire quiver at her, yet she did ok under the assault. The GOP lack of support was in my opinion completely without any excuse. The GOP was every bit as non-supportive as democrats, in some ways.
To this day, I believe McCain’s choice was nothing short of complete brilliance. I give him huge support for seeing, and choosing Palin as his running mate.
But he seems to have for some reason, folded after than original brilliant choice.
Palin will forever support McCain now, as a result of this. Don’t ever expect anything less from Palin. But she is a very, very, very strong former Governor, and would be the single strongest GOP candidate for president in the entire United States.
If she runs.
Bar none. I am completely pro-Palin. She has not stood down this time around yet.
Last time, it was the beginning of November I believe when she did. So we have quite a while yet.
But she’s not actively pursuing the office this time around that I have seen.
Not yet.
She is holding her fire. She knows that most folks have an attention span of about twelve minutes.
