What Jeb Bush Just Said About Immigration May Sink His Ship Before It Sets Sail
Western Journalism ^ | 6/1/15 | B. Christopher Agee

During his final broadcast as host of CBS’ Face the Nation, Bob Schieffer pressed likely Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush on his willingness to embrace positions to the left of many candidates already vying for the party’s nomination. Bush defended his views, suggesting the primary process would be more effective if all candidates expressed their true intentions instead of pandering to the GOP’s conservative base.

“I think people are so disaffected and … so cynical about politicians and politics,” he said, “they don’t want to hear someone say, well ‘I’m for this’ and immediately shift back to another position for the general election.”

Bush then brought up one issue for which he has already received serious flak from conservatives.

“I have views that are different than some in our party,” he said, “and that’s what we’ll sort out if I’m a candidate. I’m not going to back down on views on immigration, for example.”

Schieffer asked Bush if he still supports a pathway toward legal status for millions of illegal immigrants currently living in the U.S.

“I’m for a path to legalized status,” he acknowledged, “where people get a provisional work permit, where they pay taxes, pay a fine, learn English, don’t commit crimes, don’t receive federal government assistance, and where they earn legal status. They don’t earn citizenship, they don’t cut in line with people who have been patiently waiting on the outside.”

He went on to deliver a public message for anyone who claims his plan is tantamount to amnesty.

“Those who are opposed to that or call that amnesty don’t have a plan really to deal with the 11 million people who are here illegally,” he said.

The host then asked Bush repeatedly whether he would revoke Barack Obama’s executive orders on immigration should he become president.

I have a plan:

1. Secure the border so no more criminals can enter our country illegally. Stop the problem from getting worse.

2. Streamline the immigration courts so that each judge can review far more cases per day to reduce the backlog - have the criminals present their entire case on why they should be rewarded for breaking our laws, then rule on the case, and send the criminal back to his own country. Anyone who misses the hearing will automatically be deported when captured; failure to appear is an admission of guilt.

3. Select more immigration judges, have them hear new cases on the border as soon as criminals are apprehended entering illegally, and send the criminals directly home from that hearing.

4. Track down criminals who overstay their visas after legal entry into our country, and deport them after a fair hearing. The list of valid explanations for overstaying a visa is VERY short.

5. Prosecute those who employ illegals and know or should have known that they were hiring criminals.

6. Any time an illegal is apprehended, that criminal should be fingerprinted, DNA-swabbed, and permanently barred from all paths to legal reentry and citizenship.

7. Fix the legal immigration system, making sure that the fix does not encourage shifting jobs from real Americans to immigrants, so that employment needs can be met without hiring illegals.

8. Continue providing education, emergency medical care, and other social services to illegals, out of compassion, of course. However, at the end of the first school day or on the way out of the clinic/hospital, the criminal should be arrested and deported. Do not allow these criminals to continue as parasites imposing a burden on working Americans.

That's a plan, and it's much better for America and for Americans than RINO Jeb's Amnesty plans.

Pay taxes? Pay a fine? Don't commit crimes? Don't receive federal government assistance?

Why the hell would they WANT to become citizens? They already get or don't do all those things and more without it.

Jeb's a sucker when it comes to latinos....a real pushover.
When he hears Espanol, Jeb puckers up and puts on his kneepads.

JEB WAS EMPLOYED BY VENEZUELAN FRAUDSTER
LATINO WAS A DEMOCRAT FUND-RAISER--AND CLINTON FOUNDATION DONOR

BACKSTORY The outstanding cable TV anthology show "American Greed" did a segment on Venezuelan fraudster (now jailed) Claudio Osorio. Osorio, a Venezuelan schemer, organized high profile fundraisers, and was in thick w/ Democrats Obama, Hillary and Bill-----and with Jeb Bush.

Osorio donated some $80,000 to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, according to FEC records. Osorio also donated mega-bucks to the Clinton Global Initiative Foundation.

Osorio's shell company, Innovida, submitted falsified documents and received $3.5 million in loans from the US govt----the US Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) supposedly to build homes in Haiti after the catastrophic earthquake.

In September 2011, OPIC began questioning Innovida's "negative operating cash flow." A court appointed receiver in charge of investigating Innovida's finances indicated that "$37.5 million in funds had been moved offshore, but he had so far been unable to find out what happened to the money."

Osorio used our constitutional privileges--- invoking the fifth amendment right against self-incrimination---when asked if company funds had been used to pay personal expenses.

Osorio was indicted on two counts of wire fraud and one count of major fraud, amongst other charges. Federal prosecutors said Osorio defrauded investors from 2007-10, exaggerating the company's finances and pocketing millions of dollars to fund a lavish lifestyle. The SEC claimed that Osorio had illegally used investor money to pay for a Miami Beach mansion, a Maserati car and a Colorado mountain retreat home.

American Greed has Jeb on-tape sizing-up Osorio's pre-fab housing project for Haitian refugees (which turned out to be a scam).

Jeb Bush agreed to return $270,000 that he was paid as a consultant to convicted fraudster Claudio Osorio and Osorio’s bogus companies.

I got a 1 step solution instead of relying upon biz; esp. those that may LOVE illegals for the almost free labor:

$100/head bounty w/ immediate deportation and a raid on their residence to confiscate and sell any/all property to ‘round up the rest’ and/or pay for the deportation and enforcement.

To even make it less of a ‘problem’ for the police; the same bounty hunters can be deputized, given the warrants and keep 10% of the proceeds.

Constitutionalist party, or some other.

Don’t let them think you won’t vote; let them know that you won’t vote for them. Then support an alternative to the conservative side

I'm glad he's taking this approach, it's more honest than Mitt Romney back in 2012, who favored the same policies as Bush but paid lip service to opposing illegal immigration when running for the nomination. At least now everyone will know where Jeb stands - as an unrepentant liberal on the issue.

Bush is out-of-touch with average Americans on this issue.

Jeb hears those who want cheap labor.. and lots of it. Could Jeb be hanging out with liberal elites who pretend to 'care' so very much about the oppressed? The 'oppressed' they want to use for THEIR benefit? Cry me a river Jeb... he was a good Governor of Florida but he's been handing with elites for so long he's clueless.

Hey Jeb - we need jobs in the US - FOR Americans. We don't need cheap slave labor to compete with. Anyway that I can bring in 20 million elites for YOU JEB to compete with? Wouldn't that be fun?

The American Middle class wants something done about illegal immigration. The liberal elite want to use naturalized Mexican and other Third World illegals as a reliable voting block and political clients, much as they use blacks. Meanwhile, a substantial number of Republicans serve the interests of business elites who want the cheap labor. So as is usually the case, America's Middle Class gets stabbed from both sides of the aisle.

In the case of liberal Republicans like Jeb, I think it's a combination of cheap labor lobbying combined with muddle-headed thinking about "compassion."
