The Trooper could not allow the perp to wrestle away his duty weapon and shoot him. It was a righteous shoot.

The Trooper, [who apparently instigated the assault], could not allow the perp associate pastor to wrestle away his duty weapon neutralize his substitute "manhood" and shoot shut his mouth for him. It was a righteous shoot manslaughter.

Armed cops must kill anyone who touches them in order to prevent their weapon from being wrested from them.

Anybody else think this is perhaps a reason to reconsider having armed cops? If the presence of a weapon itself creates a situation where somebody is inevitably going to die, is it a good idea to have so many weapons around?

Once again, you are not as smart as we had hoped you would be. The Trooper could not allow the perp to wrestle away his duty weapon and shoot him. It was a righteous shoot.

That's odd. The polices spokesholes were breathlessly telling us all about the gun that "the perp" had on the scene, and that they recovered. Why would the murdered guy need to "wrestle away" a weapon, when he already had one? And where was it? He looked pretty empty-handed to me. Guess if they throw up enough smoke, they'll be away to slip safefully away from the necessary questions [like, where's the second video?].

If it would have been me, weaponized, and I had been trying to do what you claimed, I would have dotted his eyes for him, with getting all tired wading. LOL! :)

Armed cops must kill anyone who touches them in order to prevent their weapon from being wrested from them.

Sterling logic.

And, yeah, it's not like the dead guy had a gun, already.

Maybe he was urgently seeking the officer's assistance in wresting his own gun from HIMSELF, in order that he not use his weapon on himself.

And the officer's gun discharged accidentally...

“...It was a righteous shoot.”
*****************************************************

Maybe....maybe not. I’d like to see ALL the video from BOTH the patrol cars. In the small snippet of video we’ve been allowed to see, I see one trooper (the one on the left) who is all jacked up, animated and quite clearly ANGRY about something and I see the other trooper who is quite calm and composed.

What the hell went on BEFORE the snippet of the video we’ve been shown. And, while we’re at it, what the hell went on AFTER that snippet? Enquiring minds want to know. I get irritated when exposed to attempts to “shape” a narrative by SELECTIVE release of information and that tactic always triggers my “watch out for the Bull Crap” instinct.

There is no "right to kill" - but there is a right to use deadly force to defend oneself.

If I honestly believe that your push is meant to get me off balance or on the ground in order to do me greater harm, then I am justified in using deadly force to stop that greater harm from being inflicted.

Until we have a full picture of what happened, we have to use conditionals.

I’ve never met a preacher that goes for the first punch on a cop. Must be one of them hardcore churches.

LOL!

The second rule of Fight Church is: You do NOT talk about Fight Church.

This also explains why the brother can't talk about it - it's not because the law is making dire threats against him...

LE uses models such as the following to train their personnel. The basic idea is that officer response is comeasurate (on the same level) with subject action. If an officer uses excessive force (goes one or more levels above what is called for), that is grounds for discipline and/or charges.

I wasn't there, but anyone who chooses to batter a patrolman turn a misdemeanor, or even a casual encounter, into a felony. An further, can expect to get shot.

And, I'll repeat, one of Oklahoma's Highway Patrol's jobs it to enforce safety. They can make you stop and turn around if there's a tornado expected to cross the highway; they can make you drive off the highway to clear the road for wrecks and emergency vehicles; and, yes, make you get off the highway.

And I wasn't there, but there are private citizens and emergency workers who drown every year trying to save people who find themselves in the water

Wonder what the troopers said to make a pastor annoyed enough to shove one of them?
.......................................................

You’re willing to imagine that the dead man was a righteous ‘Pastor’ based on very limited info, but by your comments it sounds like you’d bring the rope to hang the cop based on the same limited info.

Get his plate number and mail him a misdemeanor ticket for $50, instead of provoking him into assaulting you.

Officers have NO duty to shepherd individual sheep who don't want to be herded.
