Putin Cracks Down on Christians in Crimea
Newsweek ^ | 31 May 15 | Geraldine Fagan

In Russia this April, a Baptist pastor was jailed for professing his faith. Pavel Pilipchuk's five-day detention was brief, but excessive. It followed his refusal to pay a heavy fine for organizing street evangelism in the city of Oryol, around 200 miles south of Moscow.

By not informing city officials of his plans, the pastor had violated Russia's law regulating public demonstrations, a local court ruled. Pilipchuk's plea that "Christian hymns and conversation are not demonstrations" fell on deaf ears. So did his appeal to Russia's constitutional guarantees of religious freedom.

Freedom of speech and assembly are also increasingly under threat in Crimea. Russia's annexation of the peninsula in March 2014 brought its religious communities under the same legal rules used to justify Pilipchuk's detention

In the East there is someone that causes the western liberal's maniacal laughter to stop. Vladimir Putin. He has real world power, which causes the liberal media to fearfully ignore or warp his image. Like a good Christian King he leads a nation to Christ. Deep down in their evil souls they shriek like devils because they know Christ is true God and true power that they cannot defeat. They thought the Bolshevik revolution destroyed Holy Mother Russia. Christ cannot be defeated and his servant Putin has welcomed Christ and His church.

How's this for a fish story: In the latest episode of Vladimir Putin's ongoing rugged outdoorsman fantasy adventure series, the Russian president, clad in a camouflage jacket and hat, appears to catch a massive pike...Russia's defense minister, who was on the trip, says the fish weighed between 26.4 and 33 pounds, but a Putin spokesman pegs the weight at 46.3 pounds. Russian bloggers are for some reason a tad skeptical. Several have posted images of bigger fish they've caught themselves that have weighed far less. "They must have forgotten to unfreeze the pike," one social network post quipped. Another wrote, "The Kremlin must have weighed the pike the way they count the votes." Come on guys. It's not like Putin would fake a spectacular exploit.

I think Putin is aligned with the Eastern Orthodox Christians, not American Baptist Christians.

It was in the Fourth Crusades that western Christianity declared the Eastern Orthodox to be heretics.

Hmmm. Seems Putin’s courts have as much respect for their constitution as ours do for the US Constitution. So much for winning the Cold War, eh?

It’s seems Putin lives inside your head. There’s a whole other world of threats to US. Ever heard of ISIS?

Like Putin and the KGB, you think anyone who disagrees with the party has a mental problem. Probably your love affair with Putin should be examined, mcgoof.

You seem obsessed with countering anything negative against this hostile.

American GIs are positioning in defense against this hostile, and you support him and his military.
