When trying to defend something you need to first make sure that the accusation is even legitimate.

Here is what Paul said...."ISIS exists and grew stronger because of the hawks in our party who gave arms indiscriminately, and most of those arms were snatched up by ISIS. They created these people"

He did not say that ..."the GOP created ISIS".

He particularly calls out "hawks in our party who gave arms..."

To think that ISIS could have taken over as much territory as they have without any advanced weapons is very naive. Paul is objectively right.
