The Japanese record of the events is interesting. They made sure to document the moving of the emperor’s picture when abandoning ship.

Interesting, because Midway doesn't have mountains.

Agreed. I fear we have abandoned him which can have drastic consequences for such a nation.

I cannot document Midway photos. However, this information and photo may be helpful: "Midway Atoll is part of a chain of volcanic islands, atolls, and seamounts extending from Hawaii up to the tip of the Aleutian Islands and known as the Hawaii-Emperor chain. Infrastructure: The atoll has some 20 miles (32 km) of roads, 4.8 miles (7.7 km) of pipelines, one port on Sand Island (World Port Index Nr. 56328, MIDWAY ISLAND), and an airfield. As of 2004, Henderson Field airfield at Midway Atoll, with its one active runway (rwy 06/24, around 8,000 feet (2,400 m) long) has been designated as an emergency diversion airport for aircraft flying under ETOPS rules. Although the FWS closed all airport operations on November 22, 2004, public access to the island was restored from March 2008.[10] Eastern Island Airstrip is a disused airfield in use by U.S. forces during the Battle of Midway. It is mostly constructed of Marsden Matting and was built by the United States Navy Seabees. Unique among the Hawaiian islands, Midway observes UTC-11 (also known as Samoa Time), eleven hours behind Coordinated Universal Time and one hour behind the state of Hawaii."

I don’t think I have seen that one. The later movie was pretty good.

I have always liked Charlton Heston but for some reason did not like his character in “Midway”.

You are absolutely welcome.

BTW, “director John ford served as the commander of a U.S. Navy photographic unit & in that capacity he wrote and photographed a seventeen minute documentary that detailed the first American victory in the Pacific War. Though subject to wartime censorship... there is dramatic combat footage chot by Ford himself during the Japanese preliminary bombing raid on Midway Island.”

Interesting, because Midway doesn't have mountains.

Well then, did someone splice some post-1942 video into the video of Ford's?

Hi. From what I'm seeing and being told, it is possible the camera angle is the culprit. Just a guess.

Really, really enjoyed that. The voice overs and score so typical of the time. Loved the tally posting, at the very end.

Thanks much for posting.

Highest point on the island is about 40 ft. It does have an interesting geographic history, being both a volcanic island and a coral atoll. It was originally a volcanic island about the size of Lana’i. The weight of the island depressed the seabed to the point that it sunk below the surface, and a coral atoll was formed around the crater.

There was a time when God truly favored a nation that served him.

He still does. Psalm 33:12 - "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance."

If you're speaking of the United States, then surely you must know that America has not served God for a long, long time. American has slipped to the Romans 1:18-32 status.
