At least 72 people have been killed in Syria's northern Aleppo province by barrel bombs dropped from government helicopters, activists say.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says 60 people died in the strike on al-Bab - a town currently held by Islamic State (IS) militants.
It says 12 were killed in a rebel-held quarter of the city of Aleppo.
Syria's government has repeatedly denied using barrel bombs - large containers filled with explosives.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), which gathers information through a network of activists in Syria, called it one of the worst massacres perpetrated by the government so far this year.

Good.
How many were beheaded?
Less islamderthals in the world.
It is interesting to go from reading the WWII+70 years history (51 sq. miles of Toyko wiped out, 1 to 2 million dead) to today, where a country at war somehow feels the need to deny they used a “barrel bomb.”
Only Islamists or was there Christian “collateral damage” as well?
Its not a very intense war in fact. Just, at this point, very extended. All sides are very weak, in a conventional military sense.
The Syrian government is using barrel bombs because its run out of proper ones, and because the other side lacks AA guns to shoot down the helicopters and transport planes they are dropped from.
The Turks or maybe even the Jordanians, possibly, could roll over the lot of them in a week or so.
I thought Russia was supplying Syria with everything it needs.
So Russia, (our enemy), is supplying Syria, (a regime we wish to depose), with weapons to fight ISIS, (also our enemy). This has got to be the most FUBAR operation in history. Does anyone know what is going on in Zero’s little pea-brain?
You missed the last link. "So Russia, (our enemy), is supplying Syria, (a regime we wish to depose), with weapons to fight ISIS, (also our enemy)" and is being supplied with American weapons.
Ya gotta give these knuckle dragging camel jockeys and A for creativity. They can just come up with some crazy ways to make things go boom.
I’m just not feeling the sympathy.
If any Christians, Yazidis held captive, Kurds or other non-IS, non-Assad people were killed... Then I feel bad.
