reminds me of history of naval warfare. I read a book through on the pot “Broadsides: Age of Fighting Sail, 1775-1815” by Nathan Miller. In the book, the french never engage the english. but in the end crica 1812. the Americans start taking out the british. The brits are into firing fast and the americans are firing accurate. Accurate wins. The Constituion ( wonder why it was named that?) took out Guerriere, Wasp took out Frolic, Decatur in the United States took out Macedonian, Then the Constitution (what a name) took out Java. then Hornet took out Peacock. These were not the fighting line fights but one offs which were set up by the British blockade. at some point abut 515 privateers took 1500 ships.
