A former Amherst College student has filed a lawsuit claiming he was falsely accused of rape, not given a fair investigation by college officials, and denied justice, even after he presented the college with text messages he said indicated he was innocent.
The lawsuit, filed Friday in US District Court in Boston, names the prestigious Western Massachusetts institution as a defendant, as well as a number of college officials. The plaintiffs name is listed only as John Doe.
In the fall of his senior year, the suit alleges, he was falsely accused in October 2013 of having committed rape when he was a sophomore in February 2012.
Doe was expelled from the college in December 2013.
In the just six weeks from the date the complaint was filed against him, the plaintiff found himself held guilty of assault, expelled from the College, ejected from the campus and branded a sex offender, with his entire future in ruins, the lawsuit said.

There are no more belles at Amherst. The women are all lesbians.
“Found himself guilty...”
Is that what the Court decided?” More than a minor point.
I saw this sort of thing upclose and personally at my college. Lawyers had to be retained to set the tone with the administration.
Funny, my mother told my father, back in 1953, after several months of dating, that he could kiss her. Grandma saw and said “you better plan on marrying him” lol.
unless it was in a movie theatre, a diner, or at a knights of Columbus dance, there was little fear of being raped by your suitor.
She should hang.
Theres going to be a lot of money in these wrongful sex accusation and investigation suits. Is there anyway to get a piece of the action?
the university should automatically turn all rape cases over to the police and be neutral on these allegations
Perhaps a small error was made here, but THE IMPORTANT thing is not what happened to this one boy, but rather the message being sent to the rest of the male students - which, of course, is that if you have sex with a girl, you better be nice to her for a long time.
(how the school administration likely sees it)
What a shame...I know somebody who has been accused with a sex crime. Of a girl say someone raped her, the person is accused... No questions asked.
The lesbians are across the river and down the street. But your point is well taken.
At college the crime of rape is realized in the accusation, not in the respondent. Therefore the fellow is guilty of rape because he was accused of rape. QED.

Finally some lame stream coverage on this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfc3XIZ4Fo8
