‘It’s the Living Word’: Hillary Clinton Randomly Approached a Pastor Who Was Silently Reading

And, according to one South Carolina pastor, she also possesses an “impressive” handle on the scriptures.

The Rev. Frederick Donnie Hunt, pastor of First Calvary Baptist Church, met Clinton at the Main Street Bakery in Columbia, South Carolina, on Wednesday, when she came in with campaign staff and reporters to purchase some baked goods, CNN reported.

Hunt, who was quietly studying his Bible at the time, said that the presidential candidate approached him and asked what he was reading. When he told her that he was studying Corinthians 13, Clinton responded, ”Oh I know it well,” and commended him for exploring scripture.

“You’re doing what is the most important thing to do, it’s continuing to study and learn what the scripture says and what it means,” Clinton said. “I have a preacher friend who sends me scripture and devotionals, sometimes mini-sermons every day.”

Clinton went on to call the Bible “alive.”

“It’s the living word,” she told Hunt, who later said that he was “impressed” by the former first lady’s biblical knowledge.

The pastor, who said that he believes it is essential for a presidential candidate to know the Bible well, now supports Clinton after previously choosing President Barack Obama over her as his candidate of choice in 2008, CNN reported.

I take it all back in finding the astonishing fact that some evangelicals here believe that Obama is a secret Catholic. I’m laughing myself sick over the stupidity expressed on these religious forums. (If you’re not sure what I mean, scroll through these responses.)

Why can’t I find anything on Pastor “Frederick Donnie Hunt” on the internet, even though he’s supposed to be the pastor of a large church. In fact there is no reference to him on the church’s facebook page and the church website appears to be phony.

Frederic Hunt. It’s a black church.

Oh, this will go to impress the evangelicals here. Me? Memorizing Scripture and spouting it does not mean holiness to me.

That's true...Anyone can quote scripture...

But a person who does not and can't quote scripture is a sure sign of un-holiness...

God told us to memorize his words and to correct the un-holy with those words...

What a happy coincidence! And it made the news! And at a time when Hillary is trying to pull some religious votes! Wow! Can’t believe Hillarys good fortune!

Nice wide sweep there. Obviously you don’t know every Baptist preacher.

I repeat my question, I’ve found no evidence this person exists, let along be a Baptist pastor. Which is quite odd, since virtually all pastors I know have an online presence, whether it be on their church website or on facebook, etc.

Kind of like when Bill Clinton came across those stones on the beach at Normandy and formed them into a cross.

How lucky the media was there to capture the moment.

...”I’m laughing myself sick over the stupidity expressed on these religious forums”....

Well if they’re making you “sick” and appear “stupid” to you then perhaps you shouldn’t visit the religious threads. Maybe a Devotional Thread would be more your style.

On the church’s Facebook site, there’s a guy in photos who looks just like the guy in the photo with Hillary. I don’t see him identified by name, but they don’t seem to identify any other pastors by name either.

You’re right. It might be another case of Hillary stretching the truth (at a minimum). If a Columbia FReeper doesn’t chime in, I’m going to have some of my relatives in SC check it out.

Might be a good Twitter expose.

I quickly scanned a few of the links. Apparently one statement is attributed to MO on a trip. I DO remember this pic of his various "religious" charms:

Are you sure? Only thing I can see is a First Calvary Baptist Church some 30 miles away in Leesville and shazam all the staff look like crackas.

Only find online on our friend Donnie is hitlery’s PR slime. 3 photos, setup as a photo-op for her.

Supposedly, this is Obama in Allentown, PA way back. Guess it was the shotgun approach:
