MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to make losses of Russian troops in peacetime a secret.
The decree published on the official government website and signed by Putin on Wednesday makes it a state secret to divulge information about peacetime losses of Russian troops in "special operations."
The decree comes as evidence of Russian involvement in the conflict in eastern Ukraine is mounting.
Ukraine last week captured two men who it said were Russian officers operating on the side of the separatists in eastern Ukraine. The Russian defense ministry said the two are no longer active servicemen. The two men, however, insisted in several video interviews that they were in Ukraine on their commanders' orders.

not for me it isn’t. By the way the Ukrainians have seem to put up a pretty fierce fight. reports are there are hundreds and hundreds of Russians that died. that would go against the narrative that ukraine was disinterested in fighting for their land. Or I could be wrong.
So basically it’s communism without the equality pretense.

SO many conservatives were worshiping Putin. It was sickening, but some of the loudest pundits love to follow the shiny object without even trying to apply critical thinking. It’s all about emotions.
There were some tense moments in March-April 2014 but Ukrainian Army has rebounded since then. After 23 years of complete neglect, it’s basically a new force. So, let hem clear out some dinosaur generals, promote new commanders who’ve proven themselves in the field, get combat experience, and number of coffins back to Russia should only increase.

Russia’s use a mix of units in their hybrid war on Ukraine. The two Russian soldiers recent captured were from a regular Russian Army Spetsnazi unit that had invaded Ukraine.
