American intelligence analysts have identified seven buildings in downtown Raqqa in eastern Syria as the main headquarters of the Islamic State. But the buildings have gone untouched during the 10-month allied air campaign.
And just last week, convoys of heavily armed Islamic State fighters paraded triumphantly through the streets of the provincial capital Ramadi in western Iraq after forcing Iraqi troops to flee. They rolled on unscathed by coalition fighter-bombers.
American and allied warplanes are equipped with the most precise aerial arsenal ever fielded. But American officials say they are not striking significant and obvious Islamic State targets out of fear that the attacks will accidentally kill civilians.

it seems that this strategy isnt working.
Obola and McCain CREATED ISIS, and therefore
they, like Hasan,
are protected by White Mosque and the GOP.
This is a lie.
What? You may harm a civilian? Oh, so you leave ISIS untouched to butcher women and children? ISIS is left free to brutally murder, rape and enslave all females? This is more compassionate? Or is this merely that Obama is standing with Islam against an ill wind?
Yeah, I remember how careful Curtis LeMay was about this with the Japanese. /s
ISIS is prosecuting a war. The U.S. is conducting a police action.
Obama was never worried about his drone attacks killing civilians. Methinks Obama has no intention of obstructing ISIS. They are on the same side.
I knew they could come up with an excuse sooner or later. A good muslim won’t get in the way of the caliphate, no matter what the official position is.
Too bad the Jarrett administration doesn’t have the same regard for the innocents here in the lower 48. And neither will the islamists when they get the phone call to attack.
Hamburg, Germany (WWII)
Does ISIS have a policy to leave adult men alone while killing or raping women and children? Or does killing and sodomizing adult males not resonate with you?
The suffering of my Christian brothers pains me deeply. It was an omission to what was meant to portray nothing less than genocide.
American military forces fight reasonably well with one arm tied behind their backs. But not so well when both arms are tied.
I think the civilians would take their chances with US lead intervention.
...nothing to lose but their heads.
“With ISIS in Cross Hairs, U.S. Holds Back to Protect Civilians”
OK, after these DAESH took Ramadi, I saw video on TV of a huge column of vehicles celebrating their victory out IN THE OPEN on a road that looked to be in the desert. No civilians in sight, from what I could tell. But, no, not an A-10 in sight. Talk about a “target rich” environment! We could have wiped out a significant portion of their forces and equipment, but, nooooo. Like the lady whose son was the first to die in Ramadi said, it “doesn’t even seem like we are trying to win”.
This just crossing the wires:
Syrian army raid kills 140 Islamic State fighters: agency
BEIRUT (Reuters) - The Syrian air force killed at least 140 members of Islamic State in an air raid on a military base held by the group in the north of the country, state news agency SANA said on Tuesday.
Citing a military source, it said the raid on Tabqa air base in Raqqa province also wounded dozens of Islamic State fighters. Islamic State seized the base in August after fierce fighting and killed a large number of soldiers.
We bombed berlin.
And now Berlin is in much better shape than places like Detroit so it shows it can be done.
***....Islamic State targets out of fear that the attacks will accidentally kill civilians.***
We had no problem wiping German and Japanese towns of the map with carpet bombing before moving in. My dad saw many a German village obliterated in WWII. What has happened to the USA!
So, a bomb might kill a few so-called civilians, who are probably working for ISIS anyway. Meanwhile, ISIS continues to slaughter civilians. Cool. Thanks Berlin_Freeper.
