A "bulldog" Ohio lawyer is helping conservative groups influence elections as opaquely as legally possible.
WEST CHESTER, OhioJust outside Cincinnati, tucked among insurance agencies, hair salons and a yoga studio, is the nexus of one of the nations most mysterious networks pouring secret money into elections. Langdon Law LLC Political, Election Nonprofit and Constitutional Law, reads its small sign, which faces the buildings parking lot rather than the street.
On a Tuesday afternoon last month, that parking lot was empty. No one answered the Langdon Law office door. Phone calls went unreturned. Unlike other heavy-hitting political lawyers, David Langdon doesnt grandstand.
But dont overlook him.
Langdon is a critical behind-the-scenes player among the small army of lawyers working to keep secret the origins of millions of dollars coursing through the American political system. Thanks to his work, this unremarkable suburb is a home base for nonprofits and super PACs that pour millions of dollars into elections.
Langdon is also an unswerving legal warrior for conservative, often Christian, nonprofit organizations that together spend millions more to influence public policy and wield great influence among evangelical voters.
Since the 2010 election cycle, at least 11 groups connected to Langdon or his firm have collectively spent at least $22 million on federal and state elections and ballot initiatives around the country, according to a Center for Public Integrity review of records.

We're now in Phase II. We took the senate back from the democrats, now we have to take it back from the republicans. And Portman is a weak link!
Portman (OH) - 2016 - 65% (Average) - 58% (CReview) - 55% (Heritage) - 77% (CFG) - 68% (ACU) - 67% (FreedomWorks)
There's no monster money laundering and election fixing machine on the Left, no sir. But look what those conservatives are up to!
Didn’t say it outright, but implied, the ‘shenanigans’ going on with this lawyer and obscure law firm.
But I’d surprised if anything is ILLEGAL. At best, the hack at politico wants (1) a quick hit piece, and (2) hoping to set IRS hound dogs at their tail.
Unlike all the shenanigans going on at the ‘charitable’ Clinton Foundation.
It seems that whenever an Incumbent Republican gets competition in the party Primary from a self proclaimed Conservative, the end result is the election of a Democrat. It is time we quit shooting ourselves in the foot. Portman may not be perfect, but he is a lot better than Strickland the Democrat.
I think that anyone who can write an argument against the liberals and have source references should go to politico (or whatever source) and refute the comments of the liberal posters with the truth. Be honest about both parties. Truth is a sword.
Perhaps. However, I would point out that the RINOs only do their magic because they feel that they will suffer no consequences for their betrayals. When there is the distinct possibility of being unceremoniously heaved from office simply because your own voters are enraged at your actions, there might well be an impetus to stop going-along-and-getting-along with the likes of McConnell and McCain.
We may not be able to get the RINO leaders, but with their allies being picked off, they will lose their power quickly.
A conservative announces against Portman last week and lo and behold, this story appears.

If you support Portman or not, this 2 page article about David Langdon describes the money involved in elections. A blackboard would be helpful to make the dots connect.
Remember, Portman poured $100,000 of donations to HIS campaign into Mississippi last June to help Cochran race-bait and defeat McDaniel.
I am inundated with phone calls and mail to donate to Portman. In the past I donated, worked phone banks and canvassed for him. He lost me forever last June. He is clearly ESTABLISHMENT status-quo and must be replaced.

No, actually I was referring to Don Elijah Eckhart. But I’ll check her out too.
