Yes, Carson had a rare talent.
I just liked Leno better. From all accounts, he is a very decent guy.
From all I've read, (and that's plenty) Carson was an egotistical, vengeful, skirt chasing jerk in real life.

Johnny Carson could do a mean Ronald Reagan, but he torched Regressives equally.

Yes Carson’s final show was in May of 1992, see Letterman was trying to imitate Carson even at the end of his run.
You are correct that even there was cable it was not like it is today and for Johnny Carson to get 41 Million people watching the final show is unreal. Even network TV shows today can’t get numbers like that.

I had discernment and could perceive that he was a committed leftist who was, at best, an agnostic but turned out to be a mocker of Almighty God.Wonder what he thinks about God now?

Oh thanks....that’s how out of touch I am.

Thank you. That's hilarious.

I think you are correct about the real Johnny Carson. From what I undrfstand, he had an austere upbringing which probably affected his adult life. He was hard to get along with and he wasn’t a particularly warm person. My father and his siblings were raised in a less than affectionate home. He and one of his brothers were clowns. His other brother was a cold fish. Who knows how much a person’s childhood shapes his or her adult life?
