Irish voters back gay marriage in 'social revolution'

Irish voters backed same-sex marriage by a landslide in a referendum marking a dramatic social shift in the traditionally Catholic country, government ministers and opponents of the bill said on Saturday.

Final results were not expected until later in the day, but ministers predicted Ireland had become the first country to adopt same-sex marriage via a popular vote by a margin of around two-to-one, just two decades after it decriminalized homosexuality.

At least it will be out in the open, you say. You are correct. The disgusting acts will be out in the open, now. Your choosing-evil Judas Priest will be out in the open with it. Is that better?

Smack your wife that she flies onto her backside, but do it out in the open at least, so we can all see and celebrate the nasty wound in the making.

Forget trying to get control of your danged self.

Forget trying to get control of your danged self.

I'm not deranged. In fact, I lead a very sober and quite a successful little life. I just can't have the Catholic clergy in my life anymore.

As to the others, yes, indeed, I am way better off knowing who the sodomites are so I can keep myself and my loved ones in my care away from them.

I take it then that you keep your family from contact with government schools...or, for that matter, from watching and participating in any of the media and entertainment world that seems too surround us...

“Normalizing polygamy is the next step.”

Respectfully disagree.....lowering the age of consent is the next step.

The homosexual marriage agenda has always been a front for legalizing sex with children.

That is correct. I sent my kids to private schools and kept them from other bad influences. I did let them watch too much tv, which was something of a failure, I admit. I did raise them Catholic, but as a family we all pretty much got away from that after the sodomite child abuse scandals remained completely unmediated in any meaningful way in the RCC.

Ireland, like much of Europe, suffered from the “brain drain” by which its best & brightest left to make better lives for themselves elsewhere. Those left behind were the small number wealthy enough to make a go of it and a large number looking to someone else to make the hard decisions for them. Outside of a brief period of prosperity 20 years ago (driven by EU investment and favorable tax rates), they’re just another crippled European economy.

The EU was tailor-made to assume operation of these small, young countries.

I visited Ireland about 30 years ago. They were debating legalization of divorce back then. How quickly things change.

Correct, but this is just the smoke. The fire’s been burning for a long time. The Irish aren’t doing anything weird, just keeping to the low moral standards they’ve had for a long time. We got the flower of Europe and we’re barely hanging on.

For an European like it is quite interesting to see how far values and behaviour of the US and mainstream Europe seem to differ. On the old continent consensual sexual behaviour is simply something private. Europeans do not care how and with whom someone has sex as long as all involved agree. The question if homos should marry or not (with all rights) finds its limitation in the well being of own or adopted kids. In Germany they have a fierce discussion about the question of adoptions from homosexual parents in the moment. If lesbians get pregnant the possibilities of the state are extremly limited anyhow.

Personally I am strictly against adoptions of homosexual people. Nevertheless I do not care what they are doing in their beds or if they marry or whatever. As a hetero it is simply not my business.
