WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Americans' favorable ratings of President Barack Obama now stand at 53%, up four points from March. This comes after a year in which these ratings were mostly below 50% and marks the president's highest score since September 2013.
A president's favorable ratings are distinct from approval of his performance; job approval ratings generally tend to be lower. For the Obama presidency, Gallup trends show the two measures have changed largely in tandem. As Obama's approval rating has rebounded nine percentage points from a low of 37% last fall, his favorable rating has increased 11 points from 42%. The resulting seven-point gap between Obama's current 46% approval rating and his 53% favorable rating is slightly larger than the average five-point gap between these ratings for Obama since he took office.
The gap between job approval and favorable ratings over the course of Obama's presidency has been as wide as eight points, and as narrow as two points. The latter took place just after Obama was re-elected, in November 2012, when his favorable rating was 58% and his job approval was 56%.

Obama’s ratings are up because ‘pubs were given impressive wins in the HOR and US Senate to stand up to him. They’ve been a disaster, and as a result no one respects them, so there’s no clear alternative to Obama.
1) Middle class folk see their 401Ks going up so they’re happy.
2) Low interest rates force money into the markets and the Fed is in the markets as well. It’s more of a Ponzi scheme than ever before.
3) This fall unless there’s an earlier trigger.
I think I saw a poll last week that showed more Americans are favorable of SOCIALISM than Capitalism..our founding fathers are rolling over in their grave..people don’t care what is going on with this country as long as they are getting their freebies thats what this country has become
free abortions and food stamps..that is enough to make at least 30 percent of this country happy
Favorability is 53. Job approval at 46. While I liked it better when he was at or below 40 in Gallup, he’s still in the negative despite all the media panting. Not good, but could we worse. Clinton was sitting in the mid 50s in his second term.
Well they voted for him twice....what can you expect at this point. The dumbing down has worked all too well.
Doesn’t bode well for beating the witch. Hopefully we get someone who can light a fire.
The MSM is clever. They report on the myriad problems we face, but do not asociate Obama with any of it.
British Elections that were too close to call
I don't think they are real
And some of you think we’re going to have a Republican president? Haaaaaaaaaaa!
Many of you appear skeptical of this poll. Hello? Did you see this clown get reelected during a horrible economy, multiple scandals and a crumbling foreign policy? That didn’t convince you half our population are idiots?
I shouldn’t comment on this as I just finished cleaning the horse corrals before dinner. Reading this has similarities.
